Evening ladies
Well i have got through my 1st day back home ok on the food front :T
was to busy for brekkie, went out to get the car fixed (and it cost €85 when we were expecting at least €300 :j ) so i had a peach in the car... then late lunch/early tea was a huge salad with steamed potatoes and a tin of sardines in lemon flavoured oil..and by eck i like em :A taplady will be proud of me:rotfl: i love tuna and salmon anyway..but a bit more variety will help.. which is not only good on the "healthy" front but on the money front as they are only 49c where as tuna is 75c :T ... oh and i have had 3 more peaches and an apple throughout the day -so im quite happy with today...
Have put some soya beans to soak as i have decided to concot a ratatouille stew type thing...using the 2 big courgettes/marrows and beans from the garden, garlic, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes and soya beans... going to make it tomorrow so it can stand and develope in the fridge for my dinner on Saturday with gnocchi..
Hubby wants a luxury cauliflower cheese tomorrow with steamed potatoes and beans -so thats some more veggies used up from the haul this morning
oh and the asparagus peas need to be stir fried -so im saving some beans/peas and having them with thai salmon nomnomnom
Hubby is golfing tomorrow -early -so im going for the walk and then a stop off at the naffi on a whoopsie hunt, back via camp so i can make a doctors appointment..so lots of walking hopefully
Then i need to get some baguettes made and im going to try making a batch of granary/seedy ones for me
Then i need to get more salad leaves, carrots etc set....
Frogga --whoo hoo... well some one was supposed to be looking after the appotment for me... but don't think they did  still i was away for 3 weeks and it was a lot to ask..and in the grand scheme of things i don't suppose it matters that much.. another 3-4 hours sorting tomorrow and it should be back under control again
Marie.. hope you had a great holiday..im sure i read about it... just can't remember.... thanks for having us in your prayers... i think we have needed as much help as possible just lately-still, hopefully we have had our run of bad times for now..fingers crossed -i guess as they say -we need the bad times to make us appretiate the good times ..
right i will get off again and get my head in those cook books -at last
have a great evening all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

evening all!
welcome home MRSM:j its great to have you back again!:T
well done for eating the sardines:T I've never had those(memories of Mum feeding tins of them to our cat as a child has put me off:D ) but I am partial to tinned mackerel and pilchards as long as they're skinless and boneless - I cant eat anthing that resembles a fish - eg bones or skin or a head or tail_pale_ could never eat seafood either(yuk)
Frogga - I have to prepare meat sometimes at work:eek: so I tend to wear disposable gloves or try and get someone else to do it. Giving meat up is something I wanted to do for ages but it was the IBS that actually pushed me into it. I feel much better without it and just get the odd flare up now and again.
I have had a good day today - followed my plan to the letter and actually have been too stuffed to have both of my A and B choices on SW. Was saving a HIFi bar for supper but dont think I want it.
Am off to work early tomorrow so may not get time to pop on till teatime - depends how early I get up;)
Hope the weigh in goes ok for those of you who do fridays!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning Peeps,
Well, I was gonna change my WD's to Monday , but I've decieded to go back to Friday  Long story, don't ask
SO TONI todays WD results are a 3lb loss :j taking me back down to 17st 2lb. I am pleased with that as Mr Toad did visit in the week so it could have been worse and if I actually manage to get through a whole week without pigging I could actually get back to 16 something next week and say goodbye to the 17's once and for all
I am off out for the day as I have a "practice Day" at my new job ; meeting the team, learning the ropes, asking any questions et.c. I am really looking forward to it and I've got my packed lunch so wont be able to pig as I'll be there most of the day.
Good luck to everyone else for WD

Well done Frogga and good to see you back MrsM.
I've been having a think about the treat/no treat thing and I reckon it's best not to have any kind of sweet treat. I only do well at weight loss if I stay awy from anything sugary completely. If I had a box of After Eights like Frogga said, I would be backwards and forwards to the box all day!
I was reading a book I got from Asda last night. It suggests that people eating an apple 3 times a day - one before every meal, lose weight more quickly than people who have other snacks. It also suggested that it is better to keep snacks healthy and low GI if you can. Something I've never thought of is an apple sliced and thinly spread with peanut butter, or celery with peanut butter.
I'm off to have my contact lens check in a bit, and may just pop to Asda for some apples on my way home. I'm doing Slimming World at the moment, so they'll fit in lovely with that.
The only other thing I would say is I'm going to forget about being thin by Christmas or whatever, and concentrate on losing 1 lb a week. If I'd done that from the start, I would be a normal weight by now.
Well done to all the losers, and have a lovely holiday Nix. Thanks ever so for taking the toad with you. He's certainly not in my house just now :T
Take care,

Morning all
I am weighing in today as I won't be around much over the weekend so I want to make sure after skipping last week I get one in today. Well I am pleased to report that I have lost 1 lb despite the carp I ate last weekend that bunged me up for 3 days! So back on track and I am hoping to go swimming next week so fingers crossed that will speed things up a bit more.
Well my Mum arrives today for the Tall Ships event in Liverpool so we are having Italian tonight and curry tomorrow, both meals out but I know the menus very well and know exactly what I should and shouldn't have.
B: Bran Flakes and skimmed milk
L: HM veg soupMozzarella, avocado and tomato salad to start then spaghetti zucchini for my main course.
I will write up Saturdays food as well so I know where I am
B: Porridge and water
L: Some sort of salad or soup (eating out)Channa masala and boiled rice, 2 poppadoms and chutney
Hopefully if I get some exercise done, the 2 meals out won't do too much damage as I don't tend to drink alcohol with food so thats not a problem.
Have a great weekend all :T0 -
Just a final thought about the treat/no treat thing, I think it is very much an individual issue. I absolutely cannot have crisps, cakes, biscuits etc in the house because the damn TOAD comes calling.
However, I do find it much easier to stick to plan if I know I can have a bag of Malteasers or worcester sauce French Fries crisps when I fancy them rather than constantly seeing them as 'forbidden fruit' which makes me crave them all the more.
Instead of buying multi-packs, I go to my local newsagent or the shop by work and buy 1 packet of something and take it home to have in the evening once or twice a week.
I have lost fairly consistently and that has happened with me having a regular indian takeaway, full fat and full sugar cake and regular crisp and sweetie treats. I have finally learnt to understand how my mind works, I am satisfied with a smaller portion of the real thing less frequently than having the low fat low sugar carp every day.
I couldn't do the box of After Eights thing, I would eat them all then go out and buy another box to hide the damage and eat half of those too!0 -

Oh really? Never done that before ~ NOT!
I'm gonna try the treat thing by having a very small bag of salted peanuts tonight. I always buy the Tadpoles and Mr Frog sweets for Friday nights so it will be nice to have something with them. Also, as it's WD and I have lost 3lb I think it's a good time to have a little reward and then get back to it, all guns blazing on the Saturday morning.Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Morning all,
How is everyone today? Well done Frogga and Floyd :T
I guess I am going to have to start weighing myself again soon, but my friend with the scales is not about this weekend so it will be next Saturday I guess:rolleyes: I've not had a proper WI for almost a month now but I'm still in my 'skinny trousers' I remember being so pleased when I got in them now I feel as much of a blob in these as I did before in the next size upOh well it will all be different when I drop the next size;)
B- Alpen L-beef roll and fruit D-?
I walked 7.45miles yesterday and have a posh new hair do (£110:eek: ) is that normal for cut and colour? Still I look flippin gorgeous :whistle:0 -
Welcome home MRSM :T , and hasn't the apotment done brilliantly.
Huge congrates to you fantastic losers, well done :T :j .
While out picking strawberries yesterday I saw something move out of the corner of my eye and guess what..........it was a froglet :j , but then I noticed another one too so our babies are now out in the big wide world on the hunt for those bloomin' slugs, yay :T .
On the treat thing – I also can’t eat just one of anything sugar loaded so have switched to other things I love like gooseberry fool, garlic ciabatta, dates, and now strawberries with Crème Fraiche. Stuff the calories!!! It’s a lot better for me than the carp I used to inflict on my body.
Well I don’t know about you peeps but the glorious British summer is really starting to annoy me. I bought two lovely floaty sun dresses and haven’t worn one once! Wetsuit and flippers would have been more appropriate. Keep trying to dodge the downpours to walk the doglets and then cleaning the mud off them when we get back. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr (me not them, they like being rubbed down).
After taking Martin’s advice and switching to a fixed tariff for Fuel (DD’s Wedding looms) we received our free energy tester thing yesterday. EEK  you should see it rocket when the kettle’s switched on, and this computer would cost £10 per month if it was left on all the time. I now have a long list of things to buy to cut down on drafts and waste ie more insulation for loft and under floor, draft excluders, sealers for gap between skirting and floorboards and thermals for DS. See if we actually had a summer I wouldn’t be already planning for the winter  .
On that cheery note I’ll sign off and get some work done. On Grandpup duty today so have to feed him midday. What a welcome I have in store, the whole puppy wags and bounces.
Take care folks and have a happy toadless day.
