    hello all,
I've been lurking for sometime, and as I feel blooming awful today have decided to crawl out behind my rock and start participating here.

I've got 10 days til my wedding and seriously worried that the outfit wont fit when I get there, would be lovely to lose a couple of lbs by then but i'm struggling for ideas.

So I call upon the persons here present to give me breakfast lunch and dinner ideas, all quick cook and healthy that I can present to H2B in the hope that we shed some of our whale blubber!
We did really well yesterday eating wise, lots of fruit and veg, salad and stuff, but then we went to morrisons and brought cake!! :o( had three cream cakes each, rubbish!!! Our main problem seems to be feeling full up in the evening after t, so I need good filling recipes and I need to make sure we have some sweet things for pud too! god we're hopeles!!

Anyway sorry for the rant, bored at work and mulling things over and over in my head.

B - Porridge oats made with water
L - Mackerel fillets on plain white toast
D - Quorn fillets, peppers and sweet and sour sauce with rice.

Thanks for listening and have a nice day!

I have started the statin and blood pressure tablets and seem to be OK on them.
Losing weight will be tough anyway as my M.E/CFS tends to inhibit any activity which would help lower my cholesterol anyway. However I have inherited a faulty gene so I shall always be on medication for the cholesterol. Doctor agreed my diet was generally fine but to avoid saturated fats etc.
    B. porridge made with semi-skimmed milk
    L. oven baked potato, swede, onion, courgette, tomato with herbs and chives; freshly juiced apple orange peach mixture.
    D. nothing planned as going to a handbell concert in London

Yeah - hopped on the scales yesterday and I've lost 2lbs :j

I did fall straight off again with the shock as I wouldn't say I did anything different - it must be magic!:rotfl:
  • Hi everyone.

    lanz :T well done.
Bobbadog  have one on me - brilliant news.

Well, not been brilliant today. There were nibbles at work and I ate rather a lot of hummus and tortilla chips. Still, I only had half of the lunch which I'd taken in with me to make up for it, so hopefully won't be too bad.

Dinner is going to be lentil shepherds pie and I WILL only eat a small portion of it.

Tomorrow I'm not going to work so I can be good all day.

xredwebx - how many pounds do you want to lose in 10 days? Do you drink alcohol in the evenings? I found a really instant weight loss is to stop drinking alcohol on week nights (but I did use to drink a lot:o ) Cutting down portion sizes really helps too, and increasing your water intake.

I can't help with pudding ideas because I haven't got a sweet tooth so don't really eat them, but for filling evening meals try lentil dishes.

I'm sure others will come on with some more helpful advice.

    Be good everyone.

Done a search for this but without success, please can you post recipe. Thanx
  • sandi2 - I made it up!!

I'm sorry, I don't generally use recipes, I see what I've got in and then make what I fancy out of it.

I'll have a go at describing it though. OK, the base has got onions, turnip leaves from my garden, chopped turnips, puy lentils and veg bouillon (the Marigold reduced salt one) in it and the top is potato mashed with a bit of olive oil and a spoonful of dijon mustard.

It's really simple to make and you can put whatever veg you've got in the base along with the lentils.

Fry the onions in a little oil until soft, then add whatever other veg you are using and sweat it all down for a minute or two. Then throw in your lentils, cover with water and sprinkle on a couple of teaspoons of bouillon powder. Stir it all in and leave to cook until the lentils are soft. Don't put a lid on the pan or the mix will get too watery. Then, stick it in a heat-proof dish, spoon your mashed potato on top and put it under the grill until the top is nice and brown.

    Easy.

Oh, I forgot that I threw a handful of oats into the lentil mixture too. They give it a bit of a creamy texture.
