Hello everyone - didn't post yesterday as I was in a pretty miserable mood all day because I weighed in and STS - I was gutted because I felt lighter, I hadn't binged and I had food optimised all week. I was sooooo disappointed, but when I thought about it I did lose 10lbs last week and that is alot, plus I had a couple of green days this week and then.... When I checked my food diary I noticed that I had undervalued alot of the syns and had, in fact, been having over 20 on most days. I don't use the syns for treats, just for salad cream on salad and a bit of butter on bread, extra ryvitas and so on but I had been counting too low as I have been doing it online and so "guesstimating" but Rockie very kindly sent me her old food optimising book and I realised how much was in some of the stuff I had been having.
The knowledge that I could account for the STS didn't lessen my disappointment however and I DID have a bit of a blow out - I don't know what came over me - was fine all day and then at tea time I just found myself in the chippie saying "sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and a plain chow mein please"! I ate a third of it all as I shared it between myself and both DD's, but then afterwards I kept going into the kitchen and picking bits of bread and DD1 had brought in fresh cream strawberry tarts so had one of those. Went to bed feeling very full but am back more determined than ever this morning!
Food today:
Breakfast - banana, 2 ryvitas, boiled egg
Lunch - chicken breast fillet wrapped in parma ham stuffed with laughing cow cheese triangle, with salad and 1 tbs light salad cream
Dinner - not sure yet but probably grilled pork steak with courgettes, mushrooms, red onions and sugar snap peas.
Desserts and snacks will be fruit and possibly an Activia fat free vanilla yoghurt.
Taplady - did you know that Pizza hut will do you a bowl of boiled pasta with simple tomato sauce if you want? It's nice!
JoJoB - you have my sympathy with regard to your baby crying. DD2 only stopped crying when she was being breastfed (which I did till she was 2:eek: ) or being held and jiggled. She never slept and it was horrendous. I think I didn't have a full nights sleep until she was 5. I used to get her to sleep and gently put her down and 2 seconds later she would start to wail. There is no easy solution either - I lost count of the number of people who used to tell me to let her scream - I tried that and she would either scream until she was sick or just scream for hours, which I didn't feel was fair to everyone else or the neighbours. However she did improve and is now the sunniest natured kid you could ever imagine! Just remember it WILL get better!
Bobbadog - hope you do get to go to Nandos - it is my very favourite place to eat!
Nicky - I am tempted to get the fitflops. My hairdresser says that since she has had them she hasn't had puffy ankles at all and that is something I get and hate. The only thing is that I am not at all good with toeposts - did they cut into you at all?
Well, hope you all have a good day - isn't this weather mad?
Mrs M - hope you are okay - thinking of you...
Oh yes - just editing to say that I haven't heard of the applesauce substitute but have heard of using pureed prunes. I tried it in a fruit cake and it was okay.. - well actually it was a bit rank and I never tried it again!Jane

Hi :hello:
WI today, I was sure that last weeks 3lb loss was gonna come back on this week but its stayed off and I've Lost 1lb.Dont understand why I'm losing though cos was TOTM this week and I've been eating chocolate every evening

Nikki - well done on the loss! Have you ever been checked for diabetes? I only ask because one of the early symptoms of diabetes is weight loss and tiredness. You can get a quick check at any Lloyds (and some other) pharmacy, or you can mention it to your GP. I wouldn't have said anything but you mentioned the tiredness and needing to rest, and that is sometimes a real sign. Although it's probably just down to running around after DS!Jane

thanks RS I had the GTT when I was pregnant (2yrs ago) and I think I've been tested for that recently aswell as I've had loads of blood tests. Doc thinks I may have ME but I wont get to see the consultant til September. I've been feeling like this for a year now

RS, don't let your STS get to you. You lost more in one week last week than I have lost in the 4 months that dh has been away. Once dh is home I will be following slimming world again, so you'll have a SW buddy as well as a cross river buddy!
You've done really well, and a bit of Chinese takeaway won't do any harm once in a while. I find that my weight loss/gain is a week behind most of the time, so you will probably have a good loss next week.
Take care0 -
Hello all, the sun is shining!:j Off to son's sports day in a bit.Dont have to eat all those cakes now...unless nobody buys them.Oh I would be mortified!
JoJoB- Apple sauce is okay substituted for oil based baking(muffins, carrot cake etc) BUT not good as a butter replacement.Makes it all go mushy and icky.Mind you it was a mate who told me this so not first hand knowledge.
B-Alpen and soya milk
L-Fruit
D-Crispy duck and fried rice(not twice in a row but yesterdays tea as hubby got home so late from work-11:30pm,that I had a ham sarnie instead)
Hope everybody is having a good day.0 -
