  • Hi all

Sorry it's only a quick one from me, things are a bit hectic round here just now.... thank goodness it's only a couple of weeks until my summer break!

Toni, don't worry, you're not the only gainer here this week.... 1lb on for me yesterday too:eek: . Can't even come up with a semi decent excuse, I've just eaten too much and that's all there is to it!!:o Never mind, not the end of the world, especially as it'll be coming off again this week oh yes it will!!

Well done the rest of you though, what was it, 35lb - fantastic or what!!:T

Great big ((hugs)) to those having a rough time, you look after yourselves girls.

See you later in the week when hopefully I'll be able to report how angelic I've been.....;)
  • Droopydrawers - a 1lb gain isn't so bad - that iwll come off really quickly.

Pebbles - on the subject of eggs and protein in general for breakfast, I have been doing quite a bit of reading about overeating and dieting and depression in the last couple of weeks and found this book called Potatoes not Prozac, by an American doctor called Kathleen Desmaisons (or something like that). In it she says that eating protein for breakfast is extremely important and she reckons that eating protein at every meal, and cutting out sugar, helps to alter your brain chemistry and can help with resisting the urge to overeat and bingeing. I'm not sure about all of what she says but I KNOW that when I stay off the sugar I am much better and I am more able to stay off the sugar when I have eaten enough protein, which is why I am liking this food optimising thing.

Having said all that I did have a slight wobble before and ended up eating 4 ryvitas with spread and lemon curd, and a bit of cold sausage out of the fridge:o - not a binge but certainly not what I had planned the night before weigh in! It is my own fault - I saw the lemon curd in Tescos yesterday - Gales, my favourite and only 24p a jar so I got some, thinking I would use it for when I make cakes for school or for my friend Joan (who was I kidding?). All day I have been thinking about it and earlier on DD1 rang up having been awol for two days and nights and I got upset and felt like bingeing. A little green friend stopped me having the full binge but I just gave in and had the crispbread and sausage before. Oh well - not having a binge IS some progress and I will just carry on as before.

BTW, I made the chicken stuffed with the Laughing Cow triangle and wrapped in parma ham and it was fantastic! There is enough left for me to have it tomorrow. I just got some chicken thigh fillets (skinless) and opened them out and plonked a Laughing Cow light triangle on and then rolled them up again with a piece of parma ham around them, and baked them for about 45 minutes.

i must confess i am struggling to keep my head out of the fridge and cupboards this week. its not even mindless eating, i'm genuinely hungry. its not TOTM so  yesterday i ended up - b/f bowl of cornflakes, midmorning 2 slices toast with butter and golden syrup, lunch 1 and half potato waffles with scrambled egg, when i got to work a bag of crisps, a pack of minstrels and some fruit polos, when i got in from work a bowl of cornflakes and then for dinner a chicken noodle stirfry thing.
i must knuckle down. i may not be drinking enough???

anywho today i intend to be better :A going to do this whole protein for b/f so::

b/f 2 ryvitas with boiled egg
l piece of cod with a 'tato waffle (cos i want it :p )

Hello again ladies, sorry to have disappeared for a while - just didn't want to upset the thread with my tales of gluttony and depression! It has been up and down lately but managed to get back on track lately and risked weighing myself yesterday. I'm now 13st 1pound, which is 7 pounds lighter than when I started 2 months ago. 2 months to lose 7 pounds!!!! Bit worrying when I know it just takes a week of silliness to put the same amount on.

A big push this week to get me past the big psychological 13st barrier and into the 12s. Re the protein for brekkie, the last couple of weeks it has really helped having a couple of poached eggs. This is the dish I have had:

chop iceberg lettuce onto a plate
top with pre-prepared roasted veg (done in frylite)
    sprinkle with some crispy sweetcorn
    and some pine nuts
top with some shavings of parmesan or crumbles of feta
    drizzle with low-fat dressing
top with 2 poached eggs and season (I like lots of pepper now I have cut out salt from my diet)

It's a weird thing to have for breakfast and not for those in a rush in the mornings! But delish and packed with protein so keeps you going for ages.

    morning!

Frogga - have a great day at the seaside!

RS - I agree about sugar - if I have some I do crave more and it also makes me feel so tired afterwards, but it is so hard not to have it.

Droopydrawers - dont worry about that pound, it will soon come off! I havent weighed this week as its weigh in at SW tonight and I'm at work, good job as I reckon I will have gained too:rolleyes: definitely too much cake for me this week!:D

Work today which includes lunch out so will have to try and find a jacket spud or healthy sarnie. Am taking a veggie lasagne to work for tea to have with salad and some HM vanilla yoghurt. I've had 2 small sliced of organic seeded toast with blueberry jam for breakfast.

Hope you all have a good day!

    Good Moaning all

(A little green friend? DO you meen me or a treasured Bogey? ) FROGGA :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: , nearly fell off my chair laughing!!!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts about our 'ancient one'. She'd had a bank of tests in Feb at the vets because she kept going all wobbly when out walking but nothing was found. They put if down to a neurological disorder. This time though it's positive she's diabetic. Saw the chief vet this time and he said all her symptoms suggested it but he was still surprised because the blood tests were negative before, and he'd double checked them. So they think it could have been pre clinical diabetes then too. No wonder she's seemed so old so quickly, she must have been feeling dreadful, poor lass.

So the last couple of days have been taken up with a complete change of routine. Strict feeding times 7.30am and pm followed by insulin injections. Urine testing at lunchtime every other day (found a new use for the soup ladle :rotfl: ) So I can't have my breakfast after walking them which I loved doing. We now have our long walk late morning, early afternoon as I can't risk her being sick. Have managed to keep more or less on the straight and narrow foodwise, and it's such a relief feeling I can actually do something to make her better.

Aren't you doing brilliantly you losers :T :T , fantastic, well done! I'm going to have a look at the article posted earlier as soon as I've finished this, thanks for the link.

Welcome home Marie, hope you had a brilliant time in OZ, you lucky personage.

Big (((((hugs)))))) for MRSM, and Cheerfulness glad to hear you have such a supportive doctor. Toni thanks for all your work on our chart and I hope all is well with you and your family.

Off now for a little walk with DD and her puppy (my Grandpup). Have a great day all.

    Suz

Morning all! Hope you're all feeling well this morning - I feel positively frisky! Cold has well and truly gone, and our whole office has Friday off, so am feeling very happy about that. Am going to visit my best friend and goddaughter (6 months) on Friday, so will burn off plenty of baby-bouncing calories!

Did 15 mins jogging on rebounder yesterday morning and 10 in the evening. Today I did 15 this morning and intend to do the same tonight.

Only snack extra I had yesterday was a ricecake with a smidgen of light philly on.

    Today:
B: 1 dippy egg, 1 slice of Kingsmill 50. Small espresso, small glass of juice
    S: Apple
L: HM Carrot and coriander soup, muller light
S: orange (looks a bit of a dry old orange, so maybe not)
    D: prawn stirfry

Have a lovely day everyone x

JoJo - I know its hard but don't focus too much on the time it takes you to lose weight. Everyone is different. I love SW magazine & the time taken by people to lose weight is massive. I read about a woman who lost 9st in 11 months. In contrast, another lady took 4 years to lose 5 & half stone. When I started my diet it took only 5 wks to lose the first stone. Its taken a whopping 17 weeks to lose the 2nd stone! You will get there.

Jumped on the scales again this morning :naughty: , I just genuinely can't stop myself. At least its moving in the right direction, but no official WI until monday!

    Food today:

B - bacon sandwich, boiled egg, apple, orange

    L - turkey & salad sandwich, yoghurt & fruit

D - tuna steak, veg, small portion of potatos, spicy tomato sauce

Am loving Food optimising, I am eating loads! :rotfl:

    Have a good day all.
