RS, well done to Miss RS. That cake was fabulous.

Well done also to Nix for doing the Race for Life.

My motivation seems to have come back after a week or so's absence. I am ready to press the unpause button tomorrow (thank you Frogga!).

Take care all of you, and well done to anyone who has managed to lose weight this week.

    Still thinking of MrsM too.....
  • Well done heavenfire, and everyone else who's lost this week. Haven't had time to post but I am reading and keeping up with everyone's ups and downs (hugs to those going through it).

Looking forward to putting my feet up this evening. I've had my hands full playing Aunty Droopy this weekend, friends girls stayed over last night while Mum and Dad went to a retirement do. They've been as good as gold bless them, "helped" making lunch and clearing away after. It's been a pleasure having them here but oh so tiring when I'm not used to having little uns around!!

RS, think DD's cake is brilliant! Could you cut a small piece off for the family to try (although seems a shame to eat it!!) and let her take the rest to school for teacher to share round with her little friends at break time or something?.... keep it out of the way of temptation and all that;)

Nix, well done on finishing the run:T . Friend of mine did it a couple of years back in memory of her dad and she blubbed for the whole five miles too but said they were happy tears, and she'd never felt such a fantastic atmosphere.

Weigh day for me tomorrow.... been pretty good this week, went for a swim and got a couple of walks in too so fingers crossed!!

    Evening all!

RS - that cake your DD made was fantastic!, what talent, my MIL (who is fab at cake making i must add but..) could never make anything like that!:j

Nix - Congrats on doing the race for life! We are all proud of you! :T
    Heavenfire - congrats!! :j

im naughty and i jumped on scales today instead of tomorrow (got early appointments) and i have lost 2lbs, which takes me back onto 17st bang on. so at least i have lost the 5lbs i put on couple of weeks ago.

i must admit 17 st in my demon, i have only been below it teice in the last 18 months, once was a few weeks ago before i got in a sulk with myself, and the other time was jan last year. i always seem to panic when i get to this weight and get convinced i wont lose anything so end up sabotaging myself!

so i must stay focused for now! fingers crossed

enjoy the rest of your sunday lovlies!
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!
  • Good idea droopy - I was just on the phone to my friend and she said to take some round to her house as she has a houseful tonight as her son's friends are there to watch the football. So I might take some to her and will send some into school too. Actually, I don't really have any desire to eat any of it at the moment - Sweet stuff is not really my thing - I am much more tempted by pies, chips, crusty bread, butter, cheese etc.

    Food today has been good:

Breakfast - nothing as had a lie in
Lunch - boiled spaghetti with hm sauce made from tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and peppers with a few herbs thrown in. Cherries.
    Snack - Dairylea Dunkers
Dinner - this was a bit rank - I decided to give Quorn another chance so bought some beef style pieces, which I cooked with beef stock, onions, tomatoes, rice and seasoning - to make a sort of slightly spicy risoto - It was deeply unpleasant but I ate it because I didn't want to waste it! Dessert was half a very thin slice of fruit bread and a nectarine.

That's it! I am NEVER going to buy Quorn again - how people can say that they can't tell when you substitute it for mince and so on is beyond me - the texture is shuddery!

Pebbles - we cross posted so well done on the loss!

Was just on the Blueplanet aquarium website and guess what? It is the year of the FROG!

well done to Tadpole 1 and to Nixy:T :T

RS - that cake is fab - well done to your DD:T I used to do cake decorating for a living in a bakery so I know what I'm taking about!
I dont mind quorn as its the nearest thing I get to eating meat but you're right it doesn't resemble meat at all!;)

Not been too bad food wise this weekend considering I've been at work.

    B - 2 toasts with jam

L roasted veggies, pots, assorted steamed veggies, 2 yorkies and gravy.

D jacket spud bit of cheese and spaghetti hoops.

I had to eat a tiny bar of milky bar this afternoon as I was in urgent need but apart from that I've not given in to any naughties!

Evening all, good to see everyone is doing well. Feeling a bit sorry for myself today (grumpy from bad period pains) so treated myself to a few squares of choc and a slice of choc cake (my dads birthday). I've got mr t coming tommoro morning and i really want to get some batch cooking done. I've just bought the Cook yourself thin book (was on c4 a while ago) and there are some lovely recipies, ideas and tips in it that i want to try. Only recipie it didnt have was one for beef stroganoff. Does anyone happen to know a low fat version? Could i use low fat creme fraiche instead of cream?

    B - Cereal
    L - Toast and yog
T - Chicken and noodles in sweet chili sauce
S - Choc cake and few squares of choc:rolleyes:

Keep up the good work everyone;)

No way???!!!! GO me, GO me, GO me :j Is it the year of any Frog or the year of Frogga???? I think they were talking about me you know ;)

WEll DOne Miss RS :T YOu talented little person :j I'd let her take it to school RS to share with her mates. YOu could cut it and bag it before she goes so she could just hand out slices. :D

How lovely This is my first day of my 9 week summer holiday and I'm gonna be SO busy sewing tails and ears  Tadpole 1 is in a school production of CATS on Tuesday evening and asked me on Saturday to make Cats ears and tails FOR THE WHOLE CLASS  Apparantly no one elses parents will do theirs. That's mean aint it? So I've cut them all out and done 12 pairs of ears last night and all the tails are done. Just gotta finish the other 14 pairs of ears today as she'll need to take them to school tomorrow morning  Sore fingers here I come.

RIght, hopping off to walk the hounds

Hope you all have a good day and are ready to renew our efforts, looking forward to being a Christmas Cracker.

Oooooooooooooooooo and count me in Nixy for next years race. I ALWAYS wanted to be the Froggy version of Paula Ratcliff but it's very hard to run with the anatomy and physiology that I was given:o I'll do me best though ;)

  • Morning all

Frogga - have you checked with the teacher before you do all that sewing?? DS1 once asked me to make a Roman soldier costume for him. Now, I'm not the most creative of people so there was I and my mom with cardboard and tin foil and glue everywhere trying to make a helmet/shield/breastplate, only to be told the next day that one of the TAs had made the whole lot!! Don't know where DS got the idea from that I had to make it, but in future I shall be checking before I make anything else.

Right, I'm another one who's pressing play again this morning. June has been a rubbish month for me for weight loss so I'm going to start again in July, starting today.

Toni - do you want our July challenges yet? If you do, I'm going to try again for an 8lb loss. Bit ambitious probably but I'm really determined this time.

    Food for today

B - 2 slices hm bread toasted with just a bit of ginger preserve on them.

L - Probably pitta bread with hummus

D - Green pea risotto with roasted asparagus.

Portion size WILL be small and I WILL NOT eat the kid's leftovers. Although I may, if I've been good, allow myself just a little bit of the chocolate cake OH made for DS1's birthday party yesterday.

    Be good everyone.
