You always have something near you that annoys... Roads, Trains, Factories, Cockerels, Cows Mooing.
The first time my sister-in-law saw our current back garden she wrinkled her nose up and asked us how on earth we could stand the noise from the birds and the mooing cows in the field at the bottom of the garden.
Possibly the same way she's learnt to live with the sound of car alarms, burglar alarms, breaking glass, drunk teenagers and parents screaming abuse at their children on the rough estate she lives on.

My house is advertised as rural and in the countryside...........the number or viewers who said it was too rural and not close enough to a town amazed me.
That's right viewers, a rural, countryside property means it is not near a !!!!!!! town, wassocks.:rolleyes:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Nothing constructive to add here, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this thread!!!
:rotfl:
I have been cracking up over some of the comments on here! It's cheered me up no end (after the week I've had!) to know that it isn't just me then that gets these kind of p+rats thru the door when selling.
Worse comment we had was over a raised dining area. It was approx. 8 inches high and the viewer was worried that her dog might fall off it and hurt itself. (wwhhhaaattt??!)She'd been making stupid and insulting comments all thru the viewing, and that just about capped it for my OH...he said 'well, it'll only fall off once...'
It didn't go down too well.......:rotfl: :rotfl:
OP...You have nowt to worry about..as they say oop North, there's nowt so queer as folk...! :beer:0 -
I viewed a house once where the house was manky and the man had his !!!!!! mags lying out in the spare room. He was selling because he was going to move in with his girlfriend - poor woman.
the weirdest viewer comments I had was from a man who was rummaging through my CD collection. his girlfriend was looking in the kitchen with me and he was passing comment about my CD's. Bizarre! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
oh your comments have cheered me up so much now! The litter tray had been put away, it was just the bowls!
Triker, I agree with you - one viewer who came that the property was too far north of Perth, and that they'd been looking at the south side - em, can't you read the particulars....... x miles NORTH of Perth!!!!
Cheers, thanks for all your posts, some of them made me laugh out loud tonight!0 -

I saw a full potty once when viewing.... yellow and brown....
i once viewed a house (at the appionted time i hasten to add) where the vendors would not let me see upstairs as the children were having their afternoon nap (as they always did at that time)!! the estate agent said that that was the only time they would accept vewings as they were garenteed to be in for that part of the childrens routine. she still phoned 2 hours later to chase up if i was interested in putting in an offer and seemed suprised when i said not on the basis of only seeing half a house - seems that everyone else had given negative feedback on the downstairs living quaters!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. as for the cats - currently its their home, and they will no doubt be moving out with the rest of the family, potential buyers cant expect them to go hungry just because they are viewing. i may be concerned if i viewed a house and saw cats but no food!!
dont get put disheartend - your house was not the right property for them- if all they could moan about was the catfood they just cant put their finger on why!!
these people also need to grow up - i remember at the age of 5 my parents taking me round to measure up our new family home before we moved. my parents proudly showed me the room that was going to be mine and no more sharing with my younger brother, i burst into tears as the room was filled with toy cars and football duvets on the twin beds, i was clearly too young to see the room with my paddinton bear duvet and magic roundabout posters - property viewing is all about immagining you and your things in the space and not the seller bits and bobs.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. These petty folk never cease to amaze me!
We once had a viewer look in the (free standing) fridge and bread bin. He never bought the house - can`t have liked the look of our bread!0 -
This thread is so funny, I have looked at 6 properties and a further 5 yesterday I'm sure I didn't say any stupid things like these comments though.
I do worry sometimes though that the estate agent may think I'm a pain in the !!! as two of my comments today were bedrooms were too small. Obviously I have seen the measurements but I also have the budget to extend so without seeing the house and seeing the position it is in I wont know if thats possible.
One houses box room was small but she had used every space wisely with furniture which made it perfect.Competition wins - 09/03 - £500 ELC Vouchers 11/04 - Lush Goodies 21/04 - Gillette Fusion Gift Pack 22/05 - Mirrors DVD 29/05 - Return Flights to London & £500 29/05 - £50 Homebase Gift Vouchers 20/09 - Remote Control Helicopter 28/09 - £225 Bingo Win 05/10 £25 Photobox Vouchers 16/09 £90 Cash 30/11 £29 Cash 03/01 £20 03/04 Fifa Football :T0 -
No, you've nothing to worry about - your viewer was an idiot. She's buying (or not) the house, not the cat bowls. The value has to do with size, location, and condition - and that means whether the roof needs repair, not whether someone hasn't done the washing up, or cleaned the loo. I can't believe the twaddle that's spoken about buying property, probably fuelled by those ridiculous house doctor type programs. I used to watch them to giggle at all those people who'd not be able to see the house until it had been painted magnolia and a few scatter cushions thrown about, but that level of stupidity frankly isn't that interesting.
Good luck - someone who wants to buy a house to live in will come along and behave properly. (Would you want an offer from the cat bowl lady? - she's probably want a few grand off because she doesn't like your sofa that you weren't including in the sale anyway ...)Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
