Good point I had my provisional I think around 1999, that may be the reason.. What do i do now? I didn't receive any notice from the DVLA

Just quietly apply for a renewal.
  • After all of the pages in this thread I have yet to find an answer to what you would think is a very important question! Does NOT updating the photo make my insurance void???? Does anyone know this for a fact? I'm not going to bother if not....I got stung less than a year ago for a speeding fine where I had to send my licence off to the old bill. No one mentioned then the photo has expired and that was after the 10 years was up. All I care about is whether or not I am still entitled to drive without updating the photo. I'm not going to bother if this is the case regardless what the DVLA say...they don't need the photo for ID purposes....Id cards and passports are for that. Sorry; I'd do it happilly if there was no charge, but I disagree with this.

Your entitlement to drive does not depend on an up to date photo.
