Been back from the hospital for a few hours. Everything went well with DD2. She hated the canula going in (no surprise there) and wriggled so much it came out so they had to do it again in the other hand. She was shattered from all the crying so when they sedated her she went within minutes. Will have to wait for either a letter to say its all ok or an appointment to see the consultant.

DH made a lovely sausage and mash tea and now drinking coffee with a slice of malt loaf. Yummy.

Work at 8 so best get kids sorted. x

    Evening everyone.

Just catching up while waiting to go to work. Slept well despite it being really sunny. Went to see mum this morning who was fine and enjoyed having her cigarrette in the sunshine. Went to my DD for a cuppa and its obvious my GS1 has not learned anything from his situation.

hex2 and taurusgb Im an avid reader and usually have several on the go at once. Have loved reading from being very young. Escapism I think. The only subject I dont like reading is science fiction.

Right everyone have a good evening whatever you are doing. Im off to whizz the hoover round the lounge and wash the kitchen floor.

Luby I am glad you're back and fingered crossed for the results
Boddy the situation with GS must be tough on you and his mum x

Tea cooked and eaten - just need to tidy up and wash sink. Will do the floor once the hairdresser has been. DS1 hair cut at the barbers but the other 2 can have a home hairdresser job - cheaper by far.

Tonight I aim to go through my receipts drawer, just time for a quick list update.

taurusgb - thanks for the suggestions, some of them are new to me so I will see what the library can do ( Ihave the Helene Hanfs, and Monica Dickens). I have a duplicate Angela Thirkell that I can post to you if you PM me your address? Follow ons from Anthony Trollope, set in 1920s-1940s. Lots of them in the series, based around the same villages and characters. Calm, enjoyable escapism.

Everyone has been fed, just about to put them to bed then on with the (yawn) kitchen. I must not let it get into such a state again.

    Good evening!
Family fed, DD1 off to drama rehearsals and time to get DD2 and DS up to bed!
Am sneaking in office to post and then will iron and crack on with some housework.

Washing in machine, Tescos stuff unpacked. Didn't get to bank today - try again tomorrow!

    See you later!!

Ended up nipping out to pick up a couple of bits off freecycle so haven't started yet. However, kids are now in bed so I've got no excuse!

let me know how you get on with your tax return online, as I am thinking about doing it online this year....................but knowing me I will get it wrong, !

I did my first online tax return last year and TBH it was not that bad. You can work on it a bit at a time and save it at each step. Until you press the 'submit' button it does not go to the tax man. It also calculates exactly what you owe or are owed so you know where you stand.
