I'd like to know that too, this savings account was open to non HSBC customers, just clicked on apply and it asked very basic questions.
Then the decision was this:
Thank you for your application
We cannot proceed with your request as when we consulted a licensed credit reference agency, the information they gave us relating to you or your finanacial associates caused us to decline your application.
So they must do an enquiry for bankruptcies or fraud.
Send me to the colony:eek:

Evening All
"Money makes Money" it would also seem "Credit makes Credit" !!!!
Just dropping in to give an update.
Capital One have finally given me a raise in my credit limit having had my account for some three plus years and limit of £200 it has now be raised to £800. Just to give some back ground this was a secured card I started with were I had to leave £200 deposit to get A £200 limit (no longer offered by Capital One).My deposit was returned a while ago but only now has my limit been increased so if there are any old Capital One secured card customers out there check your statements and online you might have had an increase. I have to say the new website makes making payments easy once logged in I was done and paid in about 2 minutes.
Vanquis also seem in a generous mood and have upped my limit to £2000 this card started with a £500 limit and has gone up very quickly. Both these increases Cap1 and Vanquis have been with in the last seven days so I must be doing something right.
Paid my Monument Card today over the phone using my debt card which was a little bit of a painful experience but got there in the end, I don’t think there call centre is in the UK let’s put it that way. Anyway the reason I mention this is they would only take a maximum of £200 over the phone a month on my debit card which means going into the bank to clear the rest of the balance only a minor irritation just thought I’d share.
Have great Weekend Everyone0 -
I've decided I'm not applying for a sausage until my bankruptcy drops off the files, under 2 years to go.

Thanks
I'm really pleased because this is my first step to stoozing and a decent mortgage rate. Funnily enough though I was turned down for vanquis 6 months or so ago but did get a littlewoods catalogue which I order something small on once a month and pay off in full, so it really does help.

Great idea for a thread - could i join too? Got my Vanquis in January at 46% interest or thereabouts. Credit limit is £250, which I always use and pay off in full each month. I really want to repair my credit rating so that one day, in the next 2yrs at least, I am in a position to apply for a serious loan e.g MORTGAGE!
I am thinking of applying for another credit card next January after giving my file a chance, I really hope it works and can only keep my fingers crossed. Anyhow, it is good to know I am not suffering in sub-prime credit card hell lol TBH I am grateful to even have a credit cardDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
