I'm sure I read on this thread that Vanquis only report to Equifax....

This is not the case, Vanquis has just appeared on my Experian file, albeit a month after it showed up on Equifax ?

    Good stuff! :D
It was an assumption as I was informed by Vanquis that they will only report to one CRA, well that is great news as both main files will hold account conduct.

    Hi guys,
The best way to ensure you are not charged unduly is to use a prepaid card or a prepaid credit card as they are known. Check out www.prepaid365.com for prepaid cards. They even have a specific section with prepaid cards for gaming and prepaid cards for privacy.

    Cheers

But they cost a monthly fee to use. Cashplus is around £4.95 a month

When I've appealed before it's taken about 2-3 weeks ... without any luck .. but it's not the same for everyone ..

Just reitering the positive information i.e. good salary, on electoral roll, no adverse credit history etc (but at the time I had barely any history so that counted against me)

I know this might sound like a daft question but if you pay for a deposit for a holiday on a credit card, is it classed as a purchase or cash advance ..

Not as far as I am concerned. Only cash withdrawal, gambling, foreign currency, travelers cheque and certain gift certificate transactions are treated as cash advance.
