    Hello,

I subscribe to Identity watch (Equifax) through my Capital One card..you get two free reports a year, and if you need anymore you can recieve them at reduced price.

I also subscribe to Experian on a quarterly membership.

Thank you for this. I am with Capital One so will check that feature out. I know you can get the paper versions for a couple of quid however I'm lazy and would prefer the information to be online/at my fingertips.

I recently got a letter in the post from Style telling me that my HMV Style card will be no more from January 2009 as Style are withdrawing from the scheme. In said letter it said to apply for a RBS card, reference number and telephone number. I called them up on Saturday and applied for the credit card and was declined. Then the lady said do I want to open up a current account and tried to sell me one which you have to pay a monthly fee on, I said no, just want a normal non-fee paying current account and asked if the current account came with a ‘proper’ debit card and not a Solo or Electron card and she said yes, she asked if I wanted an overdraft I said no and apparently I was approved for their current account. :j

How strange that I was declined for the credit card yet approved for the current account. Still, can’t complain!

Thanks for that - I didnt see any searches come up! Anyway - would that mean my bank ' internal' score must be quite high? Also how would I qualify for a servicecard 250?

    Thanks

Hey guys, been a serious lurker on this board for sometime and have been using the tips people have suggested.

My credit rating is quite bad (2 defaults) missed payments etc

Applied for Vanquis card a few weeks back, suprised I got accepted. £250 limit and 34%
Will pay it off in full each month so not worried by the interest.

To anyone else who has the card, god its ugly! so plain looking and whats with it being blue on the front and white on the back - looks so cheap lmao

Ahh well least it doesn't say "Vanquis Bank" on the front I suppose.

Now heres hoping Natwest finally give me a Maestro in a few months <fingers crossed>

    Breezy ;)
