This may be a dense question but how are you aplying for a littlewoods/additions account please.....when I look at the site I can't see where to apply.........I am a little dense though

Cool thanks Clio, i did read up on Martin's guide but then realised most of the posts were like 2006/2007 and someone at work said you couldn't do it anymore! Sorry just realised its probably the wrong thread to be posting this on!

and now just to confuse everyone..I went to by something from Littlewoods Direct....thinking that was the credit account I had just opened and apparently they had given me Littlewoods credit account (higher prices but longer interest free payment options).

I had wanted the Direct account as I plan to pay off as I use ..so i spoke to their CS and explained the situation...they apologised but said if I wanted a Direct account I would have to apply again, new search etc, and they could close the account that was set up earlier..argh...so I had to decide if i wanted yet another credit search on my file....:eek:

I asked if it was possible to have a Littlewoods account and Direct account at same time...was told yes so I thought...'why not' ...more green 0s if i get it...if not ...nothing lost as I had original account and hadn't planned to apply for anything else for over 6 mths anyway lol.....

Same q's were asked....2 min wait and then told.....

Delighted to give you an account with ....£750 limit!! *faints*

So thats 2 searches 2 aproved accounts and £1500 lmao...but best of all...more green 0's for credit file for next yr so hopefully I can improve my APR on some cards i have ;)

There is a dedicated forum on MSE for discussing such things, look for the "reclaim your bank charges" et al, you can't miss it, seems to be plastered all over this site.

Just a quick update on me lol

About 4-5 weeks ago had no CC's no catalogues, no debit card or cheque gaurentee card just a visa electron

now have

Full bank account with cheque book, £100 cheque gaurentee card and cheque book.
Aqua card £250 limit
Vanquis card £250 limit
4 catalogue accounts with JD Williams groups totaling £500...........only applied for one but they sent the others lol

I know the CC are not big limits but fine for me. I have also applied for CC with new bank and got letter today saying " we are referring this to your branch for a decission to be made"

After badgering Capital One where I was a previous customer with a letter, SOA and a notice of dispute about my account status (which was shown as default but actual settled arrangement to pay) they have approved a new card for me internally.

I suspect it is only a small credit limit and the APR is 34.9% but I'm pleased as punch to be able to get back on the credit ladder one rung at a time.

Even with 3 other defaults (2 which are still active accounts I am paying off) Cap One approved the card.

Gotta say all the advice on here has helped immensely.
