    Afternoon all,

I have just viewed my free Equifax report as I have a Cap 1 card and think I could have come across an aid to my problem...

I have 8 accounts showing on there, 1 is inactive - Studio cards! and apparently I have one default from 2007 - Welcome Finance; however my problem is I pay welcome finance by DD every week but they haven't updated my account since July 07 either. 2 are upto date - Littlewoods and Cap 1 and the rest are settled! I am showing as having 13 searches in the past 6 months and 2 settled CCJ's

So am I in my rights to contact them and ask them to update my Equifax report...and do you think this would help my credit rating??

Thankyou for all your help and advice xxxxxx

    Hi Kpnut,

RE the Welcome Finance account - once you've defaulted on an agreement then it won't be updated until it is settled (whether you pay it off in full or give a full and final settlement). Unfortunately once it's marked as defaulted even though you're still making payments it will show as defaulted until it's settled. This is what I learnt as I had the same thing with an HSBC account.

If you no longer use the Studio account then cancel it.

What are the settled dates of your CCJs?

It is scary when you read your credit report for the first time - but you just have to remember that it won't get any worse and that it will improve over time.

    Hi there

I have the same account as you and have £100 overdraft and no guaranteed overdraft, how long after account opening did you have a guaranteed limit.

    Many thanks
