Can I just ask how long you should carry on with a capital one classic, before you could look at switching to a main stream.. 6 months / a year?
My mortgage company who I called yesterday about my fixed rates out of the blue asked me if I'd be interested in their CC.. never asked me before! because I didn't want a search on my report I declined, as I'm not rebuilding credit - I'm building it, and don't want to have footprints splattered all over my credit report.
Do most people apply for one or two CC's at the same time, or am I better staying with capital one for the next 6 months or longer and just using the card as I would cash, and repaying in full, which was my original intention.
Ironically I did ask my bank about a CC, and it was declined, but was told I should have spoken to an advisor rather than do an online application.??? I only have my current account and now capital one, so maybe that was why, as I was nervous entering the world of credit, but have done now merely so in the future if I need to purchase larger goods on credit I have that option.
I have to say capital one have been brilliant, good customer service and the application was easy and card arrived within 10 days, its just the high interest that I'd like to move away from at some point, will capital one look at that in a few months, I don't mind staying with them as they gave me the chance to get on the credit ladder.
Thanks

Hi - i seem to be applying like everyone else on this site - i know my credit is terrible . But i have just had a look at my credit file- on annual report.co.uk and was surprised to see that i have 3 fraud warnings - how i dont know
Welcome finance- never applied to them at all
blackhorse- already have finance with them - i did apply for a loan it says refused - fraud
lloyds tsb - i tried via phone to open a basic account - the lady asked my name dob and address put me on hold - then asked me to repeat my address - then said unfortunatley NO
How can i get these off my report
All the credit cards i have applied have all been declined - now i can see why
Help any ideas please0 -
