regarding this - how do they work out what percentage your available credit is or how much ur using, or whichever it is, lol?
Ok, they total up all of your "revolving" credit like credit cards, catalogues etc then you have two figures, your actual total debt balance accross eveything and your "potential" debt balance i.e all of your credit limits added together...your available credit, loans and mortages are counted as total debt ammount which increases your debt to income ratio. A debt to income ratio greater than about 25% is dodgy so the more you earn the more likley you D-T-I-R will be lower for the same given level of debt.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

I got a £200 limit over two years and it has never been increased!! My credit is much better than it was when I took it out too... Have never missed a payment and have paid it fully off every month and then some months have only paid minimum to see if that helps... not once increase!

yeh im not seeing much of them increasing cards tbh, im all for cancelling my card with them, cos it seems a waste of time to have, i wonder if they just like to have lots of their credit cards out there, but with the smallest amounts possible

Yep, the Cap One Classic card. The worse bit about it all is that I chose a really rubbish card design that screams 'bad credit'! I'd love to move to another card but daren't apply. Would just like a card that didn't 'look' embarrasing!

My Vanquis card is beyond budget. All it says on it is VISA. Nothing else. How low-grade is that

Regarding the credit limit increase, I really don't think it is doing me any favours having had an increase in limit, before I was maxing out the £250 I started off with and now this month, since my increase, I have spent £650 :mad::rolleyes: The worst bit is having to clear it in one fell swoop because I hate owing anything. Short of getting my DD to hide the card, I don't know what to do with myself :o

Since having a credit card I am spending a LOT more than I would normally spend  On the plus side though, I can now play for things such as flights and holidays and know that I am properly covered if anything goes pear :T

Well that sounds good enough for me. i will just wait. If you dont mind me asking do you know your limit yet.

    Hi,
I don't mind you asking but I don't actually know yet. I sent my agreement back on the 14th August and I only received my pin number today. I rang yesterday and they said that the account was open and with the dispatch department so I should get the card soon (after the pin number)

I suspect I shall get £250 as this is the minimum and if they've had to think about it I can't imagine them turning round and giving me £2k!! I'm not bothered as I only want a small limit to build up my credit rating - I shall save the big limit for future 0% cards and stoozing!!!

    Hi Guys
Well a quick update on MBNA, they cashed my cheque today so hopefully will get my card soon, I also applied for a Tesco card and got a letter from them today asking for last 3 months bank statements and P60, does this mean that they are willing to look at my application as in the past they just rejected me outright.
