Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

    Settled in 2005.

Do you have a bank account? I only ask as I have a Natwest Step but they have reported to the CRA's from the day I opened it and have it listed as a current account - it has left me with a load of green zero's!

If you are giving the credit searches a break just now then it might be one to consider in the future.

It has been about 6 months since I finished paying off old debts, although some still show as "arrangement to pay" on my file.
My defaults were registered in 2005 and noted as settled, although they had just been passed to DCA's (nothing from them on my equifax file).
I will know more when my card arrives as I get a years free membership with credit expert so will be able to see what my experian file says.

Not sure if any of this helps but maybe if you wait until after christmas you will have more luck.
Do you have anything on your file (bank account/mobile 'phone etc?)

I am going to try and get my defaults removed by doing what is suggested here:

    http://www.learnmoney.co.uk/credit-c...lt_notice.html

    Sorry I couldn't be more help. :D

Forgot to say that your Littlewoods account should help to rebuild your rating so try not to panic too much.
Having said all this I did choke on my cup of tea when I got accepted by bos so what would I know!!
