I didn't sign anything with Cap1 but did with Aqua. Nothing in the post today from Vanquis so still none the wiser there.

  • If you applied online for a Capital One card you will have done an 'electronic signature' so you have - in effect - signed for the card:)

you shouldn't have to sign a credit agreement these days, the good old days of filling in a phone book size credit contract are long gone, or at least they should be, I have been electronically ID via the CRA, my A&L current account, Monument Visa and Vanquis Visa were all done electronically, the way it should be.

    thanks for info
it is so annoying waiting for paperwork then having to wait again for the card
  • My Aqua card involved 'real' paperwork. Capital One didn't. I suspect life would be easier if the companies all used the same procedure across the board.

    God, Aqua are such liars!!

I called them just yesterday to increase my limit and was given a flat 'No'. I have a £600 limit, but will need to put down a deposit as security on a hire car when my family has a holiday to Orlando.

I was told that in no circumstances does Aqua EVER increase your limit within the first 6-8 months of opening an account.

What annoys me most is that I've never missed a payment in the past 7 months, I pay my balance off in full every statement and I've consistently been a good customer.

I was told to call back in July when my 8 months of ownership will be up. I was also told that, if my limit was to increase before then by their computers, I wouldn't be notified - I would just be able to see it on the next statement.

    .

Um sorry but think they are telling porkies, I've had my card a bit over a year now and had the limit automatically increased by £650 after 4 months, another £400 at month 8 and then phoned them just after a year was up to request an increase and got a further £300. Limit has gone from £600 to £1950 in a year.

Maybe since you're paying balance off in full every month you're not making them any money in interest so that's why they're not interested in lending you any more. Sucks I know
