far from it, they have to refund the full amount and let you keep it!! Did you accept it, i hope not?The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0 -
you seem to be taking this personally tony, none of my comments were aimed at anybody in particular unlike yours, which were intentionally made to try and cause insult. You seem unable to partake in a 'discussion' - preferring instead to try and insult other members...
I recommend you read the MSE site rules, where you will happily find this type of thing is not acceptable.

I don't want to get into an argument with anyone on this subject but I have just read through todays posts and I don't understand why people are getting so angry. Correct me if I am out of line but we read this thead and the Mispriced thread in order to go to Tescos and find the items that we may be able to get refunded yes? So why are people being criticised for going out and looking for misprices, isn't that why we read this thread in the first place?
As I said I don't really want to get into an argument with anyone but I feel that people have lost the point of this thread and that perhaps if you don't want to seek out mispricea and take advantage of the refund policy then you just don't read these threads?0 -
The critisisms are not new nor are they isolated to this thread, a great many of the threads in this forum go through a similar process because they are viewed by similar people, those seeking bargains, those plain greedy, those with morals those with none etc.
The fact remains if Tesco got the price right or at least corrected it within a reasonable amount of time then nobody would be in a position to abuse it.
If they are getting ripped off its because they are allowing it to happen through incompetence, complacency or willingness or a dastardly plan concocted by their staff nationwide to undermine the integrity of the company take you pick on which you think may apply.
Think next time the price of fuel goes up just how quickly and co-ordinated they organise that price correction and that might give you some idea of their ability to resolve such a price error but unwillingness to do so.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I went back to Mr T's to get the £448 refund on my £349 computer.
The Electrical manager was called for and at first he mis-heard my figures and said that I had got it cheaper until I pointed out the receipt said £448 and the box said £349.93! After producing the PC from the boot of the car I received my refund straight away with no arguments.
Then I was a little cheaky and asked if I could pay the difference and upgrade it to one of the packages with a TFT screen. The very nice lady on CS to me upstairs to the girl near the PC's and explained what I wanted to do.
I scanned in my PC and we returned it to the stack of them on the shop floor.
I then perused my options. To my surprise the £499.94 PC was on the shelf with the SEL stating £349.93!!! So I took one of those off the shelf and returned to the till. She re-entered the barcode number from the returned PC and then scanned my new purchase. She then said "Ooh it's the same price have I entered the number right?" I then checked the SEL again and replied "that's what it says on the shelf" She said okay, gave me my new receipt for my warranty and I left a very happy chappy!
I now have the £499.93 PC for FREE!
I couldn't believe my luck and I bet you lot can't either!
So if you want the £500 PC for £350 then get to Bar Hill quickly as the PC prices are likely to change at any time! What to, is anybody's guess!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

I am exploiting the situation. I wouldn't have dared got 4 PC's but good luck to the chap that has. Afterall they have applied a maximum of 6 so he wasn't too greedy was he - LOL.
Tesco have applied this policy to sort out their stores and to sort out the management in those stores. It also helps protect them from TS.
If 100 people have the free PC's then they have just given away £35,000.
Compare that to over £900 million profit in 24 weeks of trading!
I have no qualms about continuing to seek out misprices or to sell items on gained this way. I have given loads of food (mostly finest) to family and friends but have a stack of CD's that will probably end up on eBay.
I have not done anyone out of purchasing, as these errors are very short duration anyway, and I don't usually get my refund immediately, thus giving others a chance! Most of the time but not all errors are corrected once we point them out. The errors on these PC packages are unbelievable though.
They could have had his sorted on Saturday evening.
Good luck to all with your finds, and keep us all posted!
Another thing: All the stores all around me have the 5p off litre petrol when spending over £50. My big store doesn't and the petrol price is higher!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

He is out of order, tesco's policy has not changed so you are entitled to a full refund and keep the product. Ring Head Office, the number is 01992 632 222. First of all when you ring ask what there overcharge policy is, tell them what happened when you took your product back. We must all do this when people try and fob us off with bully boy tactics, it is the only way the matter will get resolved. I have no problem with people taking advantage of Tescos R+R policy combined with their staff's incompetence. I have done this a couple of times myself.
I do think though that then obtaining a cash refund on products you have got for free is overstepping the mark.No reliance should be placed on the above.0
