Sorry if I am being clueless but what is the point in going through all this hassle for a refund then throwing the product away.
Surely you end up with the same as you started out ?

Yup, although I'd say you are actually worse off.

    Financialy and Materially no change.

Except you have wasted a few or many valuable minutes of your life you will never have again, quite possibly engaging in discussions which are fraying your composure, that might very well leave you in a worse frame of mind than when you started.

There is one particular seller on Ebay that has intruiged me ... I mentioned it and a poster seemed not to take too kindly to me drawing attention to it.

Why not let everbody have a chance. If you don't want the stuff, or you waste all that time and effort for an Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD that sells for less than a sixth of it's supposed high street price, what's really the point ?

also, most importatnly Ebaying the stuff TOTALLY jepordises the credibility of this site.

companies can say, "I know about you lot, you aren't really interested in consumer fair play, you just want to sell it on Ebay'

it only takes one or two that they can point to

I think the point for some is that the product is of little or no consequence the act of r&r is what they are out for, each incidence of r&r is a distinct message to Tesco along the lines of "we know what your doing and we don't like it!" yes some are out for profit, some to meet their daily needs, some just for the challenge, personally I just like to kick back when I'm kicked! If they got their prices right I wouldn't give a hoot if they dropped r&r but I'll stab at the giant with my cocktail stick as long as he's in reach, even a giant can be felled with enough cocktail sticks.

hmmm...fair enough if it happens by mistake to you, but why bother seeking them out and going through the hassle?

Will I e able to et a refund or not? thank you in advance

The price error on this was on last weeks poster that was replaced on Monday so unless they have left the old SEL in place you wont be able to prove an overcharge.

£13.97 is the correct price since Monday so it will depend on when you bought it. If you did buy it last week I'm not sure how you would prove what was on the poster. Its worth a go though if you get an honest CS manager who will admit the poster was wrong last week you might get a refund.

You would need to say "I bought this last week, it was on the compilation poster at £5.97 when I got home I discovered I was charged £13.97"

You'd need to ask OH about my reputation and whether my charges are fair...

Whatever you do don't overcharge him or he'll end up getting it for free!

    Couldn't resist !! :D

Getting it free and then selling it on EBAY :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

  • Broke the golden rule tonight - went for an empty till with my goodies. Till operative must have just started her shift and was too observant for my liking! Spotted straight away the overcharge on Antonio Carluccio’s Italia Cook book (sticker £12.97 scan £14.97) and a Moods CD (sticker £3.97 scan £4.97). She was very apologetic and immediately summoned the supervisor to override the scan and put the items through at the lower price. It took a lot of effort and through gritted teeth I thanked her for being so alert! It looks like I will now be chilling out with my ‘paid’ for moods CD whilst eating pasta!

Get someone to take them back for you, say the oh got them and didn't know. Remember the person on the till avoid her like the plague and hope for the best second time round when buying them. I always put items with stickers on face down in the hope they don't notice.
