but it is interesting isnt it ? if somebody is getting all the Cds and Dvds free from Tescos then selling them on ebay ? is it in the spirit of the thing ?

It is very easy to get judgemental about someones activity on this and many other threads but generally these threads tend to exploit poor management and malpractice rather than vicitmise the honest and diligent purveyor, if some choose to make multiple purchase for profit or otherwise who are we to judge? if someone gets r&r on fifteen products in one visit what does that say about the price integrity of that store, and how many otherwise less informed individuals are being ripped off in the meantime, if the r&r is not acted upon and the price differential rectified then who is the greater transgressor the ebay seller or Tesco? each and every time r&r is made use of is an opportunity for Tesco to right a wrong if they don't take advantage of that opportunity, then they deserve to pay for the complacency or dishonesty employed. Each and every r&r makes you the mse'r more and more aware of just how widespread the practice is and how Tesco allow the status quo to prevail, Each and every r&r is a little thorn in Tesco's side and a reminder that not everyone throws their receipt away without somuch as a second glance and that yes indeed they will on occasion be held accountable for that complacency. Each and every r&r is a step closer to being able to shop without being robbed!!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
ben500, your posts are always inspiring and put new backbone in me when I'm feeling wobbly about doing this. They are not doing us any favours here - it's their stated policy so they have to abide by it.
In theory we are doing them a huge favour of course - if they just acted on the information we give them it would prevent them breaking the law, at absolutely minimal cost to them.
For me the difficulty at CS lies in keeping my nerve and keeping calm at them same time. It's quite easy to fight your corner if you feel angry, but then one is likely to come over as a bolshie customer and risk being banned. I try to go for a "more in sorrow than anger" approach which usually works ok. Sometimes CS do seem to have been genuinely embarrassed and I have certainly had apologies from them. So far there have been no real unpleasantnesses at my local Tesco but there are two very nice and experienced women on there who know what theye're doing so I think I've been very lucky.
Reallly I just wanted to say thanks to all the encouraging posters on here, I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for all of you. The best part of the experience (well, apart from getting the money back) is coming here to post my new findings.

Am pretty sure wednesday is the HO e-mail to the stores telling them of the entertainment mis-prices and to get their act together. Which is a pity because I struggle to get to stores on monday and tuesday due to college commitments. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Just to update i got a reply from my email about not being able to keep the items at beckton and only being given a refund:Thank you for your email.
I am sorry that you paid more for your products than expected on your recent visit to our store. Please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointment caused.
Our policy is that if you are overcharged, we will refund you for the item and you can keep the product. In order to verify the overcharge please can you return the item and your receipt to the store and we will look into this for you.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Useless i know that and i told them in my original email that they had took the items back saying they need to send them all to head office. It's made me more determined to go back when i get a chance to have a look to see if the items are still there mispriced and the poster is still up after they told me they would take it down:mad:Darren0 -
Should I ever have problems with CS, I will politely point out their policy on the poster, and advise them I am a law student (which I am), then advise them I'll be popping of to TS, and can I have their name (not the managers).
I'm sure that'll shake 'em a little bit. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

I'm relatively new to this section of the site and have just recently tried the overpricing thing...
I'm just wondering what the highest priced overcharge item anyone has received for free is? I noticed a ref to Family travel insurance at about £130 can anyone beat that?0 -

Yes, the Manager removed them on Tuesday night when I visited and got Dido and Saturday Night Fever. He was not a happy man.0 -
