I have to say I have had a couple of nasty CS staff but normally make jokes with them.

"its me again, Guess what overcharge. Wish I had known I would have filled my trolly, can I go get some more"

on the first visit or new CS staff its alway:

"what do you mean a full refund wont you just give me the difference?"

Next time in my local it will be:

"Hi again, just getting some CD's hope the prices are right this week"

Just have some fun with them

Can I ask what you're going to do with all these repeat copies of CDs you're picking up?

If you're thinking of selling them on ebay, maybe you could donate the proceeds to Martins earthquake appeal?

OK all, this is interesting. Some may remember Winchester has a bulk buy policy (poster up) to say you can only buy two of any item. They use the only when they dont want to give you more than two overprices.

After weeks and lots of email I got this today:

    Thank you for your reply.

I have spoken to the store and have been advised by Emma the duty manager that this sign has been put up in the store to deter customers who are deliberately going into the store to find errors ie 1p per gram more than the correct price and buying these products in bulk and then going to our customer service desk and basically abusing the overcharing policy.

It is targeted at these particular customers who are known to the store, and Emma will call you to discuss.

You should have been advised of this on your visist to the store and if Emma can identify the tesco employee she will arrange re-training.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at
    customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting XXXXXXXXXX.

    Regards

That is £10 per kg overcharge they dont mess about do they

and buying these products in bulk and then going to our customer service desk and basically abusing the overcharing policy.

with them admitting to overcharges like this they are abusing us.

Might I suggest perhaps some basic maths

What corporate gobblydegook or something like.

Thought I would just share my experience with you all. I have been reading this thread for ages and thinking how brave you all are and finally got up the courage  made a note of the HO number and trotted off to T's this evening to do a largish shop (nearest T Extra, 10 miles from home). Casually had a look at the CDs. Yes! Prices on poster different from shelf edge! Picked a couple, put into trolley, wandered off, got notebook out and made note of the prices (Hoping to look like I was checking shopping list) Felt guilty as hell :D . Checked the CD prices on the scanner - yep, higher prices. Completed shopping, out through till, straight round to CS, heart beating hard, smile on face, reasoned arguments at the ready........only to meet the nicest young man who apologised profusely for the inconvenience, refunded the cost and handed me the CDs, all with a smile! :rotfl: :rotfl: I was so relieved - I hate confrontation but hate being ripped off more, so I would have stood my ground but was mighty relieved not to need to!

It's a buzz, thats for sure!

Did you put the price of everything you bought in your notebook? I now do that with my shop and find I get overcharged at least once.

Well done Bennifred! - you've broken your duck(a pity it wasn't one of the many whole organic chaps that so many of us found several weeks back - think it was my first post of a find) You'll feel like an old hand before you know it and remember - if refunds don't go as smoothly as your first one has(praise that excellent service, remember!)this Community is here to advise and support you.
