I am glad that no one else has been banned. I am trying (without sucess) to contact Mr Gavin Porter. I have been told that he is the person who can deal with my ban. I left a message on his phone last thursday, still no reply. His phone goes straight to voicemail. I will try the 0800 number tomorrow.
I am going to try very hard not to go mad with them. hissyfit8wr.gif
I have to say that it is very embarassing not to be able to shop at my local Tesco. I think the discussion may be heated. argue2.gif

I think I may be next. Lady from meats to CS lady - hasn't she done this before?

Overcharged for chicken breast kievs and Fimbles DVD.

Fimbles DVD - they argued £12.99 was correct price, but would honour promise anyway.

BUT!!!!!! Chicken kievs (some stickered £1.99, some not, SEL said £1.99). First gave me a £8.97 refund (3 packs - I've got 4 kids). Then took them off me and replaced them for stickered ones with earlier dates, which I objected to. She said tough, so I said OK - I'll let you have that one. THEN - she scanned them and asked me for £5.97!!!! I said no way - your promise is for a refund and keep the product.

She was adamant that the SEL was a special offer, and the non-labelled ones were not part of the offer. Firstly, I pointed out it was a normal blue/white label, not a yellow one, and if it were a special offer, then it would have an expiry date on it. Amazingly, she'd removed the label and couldn't find it!

So they called someone else, who agreed with her, then a manager, who agreed with me, and apologised.

During all this time, there were about 6 security staff milling about behind me, and I was getting decidedly twitchy. Nothing happened though - maybe they were just changing shifts?

This is too stressful for me now. I can't take any more.

Sarah, complain to the store - the manager is obviously with you on this one.

My friend got a mouthful from a gobby temporary employee (a law student scarily enough!) when she had some overcharges. She complained when she got home and the manager rang her, apologised profusely and added some points to her clubcard as a goodwill gesture!!

As this CS person has been overruled by the manager, she may well be vindictive in the future, so I'd also request assurance that any future overcharges will be dealt with in the correct manner and as per their advertised policy. Drop her in it.....from a great height :D

Hi everyone, I've been milling around on these boardsfor a while now but have just registered to post today, I've found everything you guys have been saying about the tesco policy v useful and yesterday decided to try it for the 1st time!! I got the razorlight cd yesterday, then the whitestripes and stereophonics today ( from a different store), thing is on both occassions I was REALLY made to feel like a criminal, both times they only offered refund of the difference until i politely pointed out the policy and said does that not apply in this situation (feigning innocence - probably unsuccessfully!!), and then both times they did it for me, but totally stony faced and their attitude had totally changed, today they then stormed off to rip the poster down and also gave me my (nearly) £20 refund in £2 coins!!

My question is how on earth do you manage to do it so successfuly on a regular basis - I've seen ppl on here saying they've had £100 + refunded in 1 day. I'd love to try to get some free meat from Mr Tesco, but as it is surely obvious what you are doing how do you manage to pull it off - are u just really upfront about it?

Cheers for any comments, would appreciate being able to save some money on meat and cheese!!

    Hi Ems! Welcome!

I get meat sometimes and I feel like it is really obvious that I know what I am doing - after all you must know because the price on the pack is the price on the receipt and it is the weight prices that are wrong. But all I do is say I noticed they were different and I am sure the shelf was showing cheaper so it looks like I have paid more than I should have.

I have had wobbles due to horrid CS staff where I got scared to go back again but I am not doing anything wrong and a couple of mispriced joints is hardly taking the p* in one shop is it? I don't do big shops either. If they get it wrong and charge me too much then why shouldn't I get my money back under the policy - after all, isn't it there to protect me?
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

This is a new one for me but i was in the Beckton store earlier and picked up the bacon joints and some mackeral which is pre-packed and next to the salmon.Anyway went through as usual and went to the desk and told them i had been over charged. She said she would have to call her manager. Then a guy came aong and told me i could only have a refund and they now have to take the items off the shelf and send them all(yes i'm sure he said all) to head office.I quoted the poster near the desk that said i could ahve my money back and products free and he said they have got to remove that.Once he went i said to the woman he's making that up isn't he?
She said no someone came in last week and tried to get alot of stuff free.Really i thought as i was in another store last night getting refunded £31 and got the items but i was in a rush and just took the money back and let them keep the items.I have emailed Tesco's though and i'll see what they say and have given them the guys name.I might even go back tomorrow or Thursday and see if the items are back still at the dearer price and if the poster is still up and then i'll let them have it;)

This EXACT thing happened to me on Monday @ Beckon (Gallions Reach) - yes bacon joints and mackerel strips were purchased, and I was given a 20 minute wait for the invisible man(ager)!

They told me the same about head office, and also the products will be removed (as we spoke), and sent to HQ!!

So the bacon and mackerel must be different ones if they told me the truth.

I was give the choice of surrendering the goods for a refund, or the difference refunded.

I told them that I actually wanted the goods, and decided to "wait to see what HQ say".

The Mackerel was actually out by £2 a Kilo.

Thanks Katskorner, that makes me feel better, i totally agree, if they have the policy the they should honour it - i don't want to feel like a criminal! At the end of the day i spend a lot of money in their stores - i must have been overcharged by £100's over the years (maybe!), so a couple of joints of meat is nowt to them!!
I don't want to get obssesed looking for them (don't have time for one thing!), but if i do spot one i will do it next time!!

    Cheers

Thing is, I actually WANTED some chicken kievs, and just chose the ones with the longest date, which happened not to be stickered. I even mentioned to the cashier that they were overcharging me (because I didn't want the hassle, tbh), and she told me she couldn't do anything about it, she just scans them, and I'd have to go to CS after I'd paid! So what's the alternative, Mr T???
