the manager in my express around the corner has refused to refund on my parmisan which was £17.08 on SEL and £17.49 on packet, he says its only on the SEL as a guide.

Anyhow I will take this up in the morning, but in the mean time I think this is straight from their manual,

Update: Called Tesco, nice chap in HQ said the manager was in the wrong asked me how expensive the dearest of the four cheeses was, he took the bar code and said he would send me 4 times this amount by cheque (more than I paid).

He also said he would include with the cheque the full printed policy for my refference and would call the express manager and put him right.

    wow, that's a brilliant result!
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

    Another Little Bit Helps?

Having just enrolled in three Tesco Clubs several hours back, shall now join all I ignored earlier(kiddie/fambly) so as to receive MANY coupons/vouchers/offers irrelevant for me, but useful to others as swaps.
It felt like a Eureka moment, but was doubtless thought of by Betters and Elders(in MMSer terms)long ago.
This facility arises in the https://www.clubcardpoints.com site kindly pointed out to me by Tiff a short while ago. The work which others put into this and related sites is generous and superb so I evangelise and convert likely Elects(my chance to play God) with zeal....eleven since Friday.

Have you been sneeking Bens brandy

Maybe someone on here could tell me, or point me to a thread that does:

What is Tesco's policy on using coupons for items you aren't buying?!?

At the weekend I spent £50 and tried to use a 50p domestos coupon and a 15p Warburtons Milk Roll coupon, neither of which I brought and I got told I could only use 1 becaues I hadn't brought either of them. Is this right?

I felt a right prat stood there arguing over a 15p coupon but the snobby little black and white farm animal on the till was too far up on her high horse to even listen to what I was saying!!

    Thanks

    M
As everyone says it really does differ from store to store, if there is one I try to use the self scan tills with coupons [see my ramble from the other night]
  • In my store it all depends on who is on the till, I also go for the under 25's and male too, the ones who look like they really don't want to be there. I had a £110 shop on Saturday, with BOGOFs it came down to about £95 and I handed over vouchers which brought it down to £71 !!!. I spent £10 on toddler clothing, gave the cashier, a 200 points vouchers for £10 spend on clothing, £2.50 voucher off spending £10 on clothing and a £2.00 voucher for spending £10 on clothing and had in effect £4.50 + 200 points for my original £10 spend as they took all the vouchers. I also forget to use one voucher so went over to CS and they exchanged the voucher for the £5.00 cash and one didn't scan through to add points so they put the points on too.

    :T Wow ...
  • Yes but sometimes they won't take any at all - there doesn't seem to be any clear policy - it's more of a catch the right one and chance it !

Have any of you tried to take back an item for refund/exchange you were overcharged on?

Not having fun with my (free still, maybe) insurance at the moment. The refund on the product has triggered the cancellation of the policy, even though CS assured me it wouldn't.

Apparently I need to go in store and fight it out with them as the insurance company are nothing to do with Tesco. (PS: Just created another misprice hunter as the insurance woman couldn't believe I was expecting to have my money AND the insurance under the terms of tesco policy).

So what do you guys do if you need to take back an already refunded product? Am feeling like accepting it gracefully as I won't be out of pocket and do need the insurance anyway. the misprice was just a bonus which didn't last.

    Any tips?

Went back in store today and the CS staff were lovely. I'd picked up the wrong insurance initially (Strangely forgot I was a mum...I have these moments every now and then!) , so needed to upgrade to a family policy from a couple.

It took a while for the staff to understand the situation, then to make the till understand the situation, but I got my family policy for the difference in price between that and a couple policy.

Halfway through sorting it out, the regular CS staff member who normally refunds me came back to the desk and asked if she could have a quick word with the staff member dealing with me...subtle?!

    I went away happy.

I then got a few staff member eyes following me round as I got a few bits...I'm sure one of them followed me all round the aisles then stopped to "straighten" the veg when I pondered what else I needed. I picked up the probably mispriced Caramels and put them down again. Wanted them to know I'd spotted them! But I resisted temptation, moment on the lips...

Thanks again for all your advice.

I went into tesco tonight and got 4 CDs which were a lower price on the Top 40 type poster than they were on the shelf. ( Stereophonics, White Stripes, Dido, Snow Patrol.)
When I tried to get a refund they brought the poster and pointed to a small label at the top saying 'Full range of new releases at tesco.com'
CS 'You see, these are the internet prices. Its always cheaper on the internet.'
Me: But it doesn't say these are the internet prices - Tesco always honour the lowest price advertised.etcetc '
'(Points to little bit at top of poster)- 'Thats what this means. The price was clear on the shelf'
We got the home n wear manager- She repeated the same line.
I argued the toss for about 5 minutes. She offered a refund- I refused.
    I am right aren't I?

And get this- Snow Patrol, Dido and Stereophonics are dearer on the net as I've just checked. Ha! glad I didn't take a refund.

    Your right.

I think its time to tke the HQ number with you and call them then and there in the store and pass your phone over to CS.

PS the HQ number is not the same as the 0800 on the back of the club card.
