I have had this before, where they say it's a 'GUIDE' my reply has always been something along the lines of 'stop wasting my time ....... are you telling me every SEL in the store is a guide, I doubt that very much, I also doubt if your customers who might have poorer eyesight and therefore can't see the writing on the pack would consider it a guide, especially when it is £X overpriced , and I am pretty sure trading standards wouldn't consider it a GUIDE either '
The parmesan in question could be very difficult for a person to see who's eyesight might be poor, without reading glasses, as it is in pretty small writing. That is the whole point on having good sized writing on SEL labels, and the various offers.
Doesn't your parmesan come under overcharge heading 1.
Size on SEL correct but price charged is higher than on SEL ?

hiya,
i might have one for the brave ! 'School Of Rock, starrring Frank Black'. the sticker said £4.96, fingers crossed ! I bought one, checked my reciept it was £4.96. later I went back and had a look and that was the right price but I noticed that the label also said 'Two for £15' ! Anyone know what would happen if you bought two ?
I'm not complaining though, 4.96 isn't bad at all for a fairly new movie ! ::)0 -

What an incredibly confusing e-mail! No good reading it after a couple of glasses of wine
Could you not ask them to write it in plain english without the tesco jargon? 0 -

In the unlikely event that we overcharge you we will give you your money back and you can keep the product.
Size on SEL correct but price charged is higher than on SEL
SIZE IS DISPLAYED ON SEL kILO = £17.08 KILO CHARGED AT HIGHER ON PRODUCT £7.49
THEREFORE OVERCHARGE
Unit Pricing[/b]
Unit Pricing, although required by law, is intended as a guide only to allow price comparisons and, due to rounding of the figures, cannot necessarily be used to calculate the final selling price. The POS that states this should be displayed throughout the store.
DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN GOTO CHECKOUT AND OFFER ANY PRICE WE THINK IS REASONABLE FOR THE GOODS THEN IF THEIR SEL'S ARE ONLY INVITE TO TREATS. HOW ABOUT 9.99 FOR A TELLY OR LAPTOP, BET THEY SOON STICK TO THEIR UNIT PRICE THEN.
hope this makes sense but have been watching midsummer.0 -

Two more judicious rejoinders from nannaC - off to watch Alan Bennett any second now, but have pleasurable thoughts of offering 5p for my (unaccustomed)lavish shop as a guide only, therefore not qualifying for a recalculation....CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

when they say unit price I think they are talking about the area where it says
equivelent to £**** per kg
which as they say is only given to help you compare prices.0
