Why don't people who claim to have so much evidence about overcharging go to Trading Standards and attempt to have the matter cleared up once and for all? I believe Kenny has already said that he does not care if the refund and replace policy is pulled.

Rather than constantly calling or emailing HO, a simple letter asking Trading Standards to investigate would produce more interesting results.

Do you believe it is right for Mr T's to ban someone from there stores for asking for a refund for an over-priced item ? OR NOT ?

No it is not right, but then again Tesco don't do that.

Do I believe it is right for Tesco to ban customers who are abusing a policy and actively getting deliberately overcharged? Absolutely!

    Hey Matt,

Dont worry about the ban. Just shows that tesco are feeling the pinch from this new policy and people are working on it. I would just advise your friends and family on what to look for and send them into the shop. You could even get the security guard on your side by showing him what to look for, im sure he would be entertained by the fact that you can show him the mistake, then follow with a 'watch this' attitude as you get your refund.

Im sure he would be more impressed with this. As to the ban, managers come and go. Id not bother making any complaints, shouting, moaning etc. Id let it lie, then in 2-3 months just go back in at night time when its quiet. Chances are that the manager wont be on, and you'll be able to shop without any hassle. At the end of the day you are a regular customer.

Kicking up a stink dont really work, i proved this as i worked for a nightclub in Chester. I left the firm on my own terms, (basically manager would not give me a night off) and i was banned from entering the place since. Ive been back, got into the club but as soon as im spotted in asked to leave ASAP. Ive spoken to the manager who has assured me that things are ok, but when i come to the place the door staff wont let me in. When i see the door staff away from the venue, im told that things are ok..and that im allowed in.

Shows that people are 2 faced, and when with there 'friends' they change. Im sure you would be ok. Like to see you being charged with Tresspassing, id take it all the way to Crown Court.

Ok guys, lets not turn this in to a personal abuse thread please.
    It's not really helpful.
This thread is interesting and informative, as long as its purpose remains focussed.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

There would be no opportunity to 'abuse' the policy if the pricing integrity was not a total and absolute disgrace.

As a large company with massive funds at its disposal for IT and investment in processes, people and procedures there should be virtually no opportunity for abuse to occur, as misprices should be almost unheard of.

They constantly misprice because they can't be bothered to sort out the fundamental issues with there processes surrounding there weekly offers in the meat and diary aisles. If I were the meat manager I'd have it sorted in no time, of that I am positive, these slackers just can't be bothered or are incapable, that's the whole issue.

Wallace. You really are a minority on here.

You're happy for a multi-billion profit company to continually abuse its customers by openenly overcharging them, often on quantities of four or more of the same overpriced item.

But you're not happy for a minority of people to notice these breaches of the law and to take advantage of a nationwide store policy and get a refund?

What a strange set of values you have.

  • Hi All,

I'm new to this so can somebody tell me if I am understanding this.

Basiclly you buy things which are being advertised for less than they are selling for. You put them through the till, pay your money and then say "opps sorry, there seems to be a mistake." and the tesco gives you your money back?

    Is that how it works?

Tesco have a policy whereby if you are charged a different price at the till than that which is displayed on the shelf they will give you your money back and the item free.

People post here what they have seen.
