However, the actual misprice thread seems to be getting clogged up again...not with new misprices, but people posting whether already posted misprices (such as the Jem CD...which I'm gutted I seem to have missed now as forgot during my Tesco visit this week!) have successfully been bagged at their store.

Would I be the only person to think that those sorts of posts should be on this thread, not the misprice one?

I'm sorry I've just posted the Jem cd again on misprice thread, was so chuffed at having finally got it after checking my local tesco's for the last two weeks and the poster not being there. Hurray, it's there at last. CS had to go and check with a manager that she could give me the refund but I got it no problem. My sister who was behind me in the queue got it too. :j :j

I think these 2 distinct threads are working quite well. Hey Redfox, at last! Only took 6 threads!

    Bylromarha,
I do see your point but I think it is good if everyone post their finds.
I was the first (as far as I know) to post that the Jem Cd was wrong last Monday evening. It's good to know that so many people picked it up!
It also shows how widespread the error is. The most amazing thing though is that there is obviously no communication to Tesco HO at all from the stores.
Maybe they save all their mispriced errors up until the end of the week!
By then its too late - LOL!

Interestingly...the CS lady didn't even bother to get someone to go check on the misprices!!!! Just gave the refund and apologised. Very nice she was too
Ummmmmmmmmm wonder if they have been told to be polite?

I see the cpjackso list is back. Thanks, cpjackso.

no I agree, it's good to know lots of people have benfitted from a misprice (managed to get Jem myself today at last, so most happy! Thanks.)

I just think this thread is the place to do it, not the misprice only thread.

The more of them that are posted on the misprice thread rather than this thread means that we'll be back to the old problem of the other 5 threads of having to wade through repeated information rather than quickly being able to spot new misprices.

I think this thread has already established it doesn't matter which store you shop in as some have the error (or the poster removed in the case of Jem), others don't. Some stores still run the old price, others update to the new one. It's only by checking ourselves if it works for us. It has no bearing on my misprice hunt if someone posts X store in Backobeyond had the misprice. It is another point for the consumer, which is always good to hear about, but belongs on this thread IMO as it isn't a new misprice, which is what the 2 disctinct threads were set up for.

    Confused? You should be!

just come home from work (Mr T's) , and on the internal mail system was a message from another store saying the JEM cd was going thru at the wrong price and that they had to refund someone who had bought 6.
WAS THAT 1 OF YOU ON HERE.
if so you may have just spoiled it for everyone else due to your pure greed. congratulatios

Just posted quote from a disgruntled cashman on the main thread. Beats me what the problem is, I guess Tesco's profits on food is not greed? How much profit did they make, and it can't be a small proportion from overpriced goods advertised at lower prices. So one punter makes £45 from a mistake, well darn me that will eat into Tesco's profits won't it. And I thought Tesco staff were grateful when we found out about the misprices for them, and even thanked us for our trouble!
Sounds like they don't really like us after all.........
  • my local tesco Bangor - N Wales - says they no longer use the policy of giving a refund and item for free - they will only give the difference in price. Can't argue because all the posters of company policy have been taken down.

It doesn;t really matter what they do or say in this local store. This is a NATIONAL policy, as advertised, not least on their website :

    http://www.tesco.com/customerservices/custServCustomerDesk.htm

"And if things don't add up
    • In the unlikely event that we overcharge you we will give you your money back and you can keep the product.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

They do what they want, I complained about Winchester having a 2 item bulk buy policy which stops me from buying BTGOF and why I could not buy 6 bottles of wine for 10% off.

They emailed me back to confirm they had spoken to Winchester and this is now their policy at that store.

But there's no national policy on bulk buying that I know of. there is on misprices.

    And what does BTGOF mean???!!!

I think he likes us. He's giving us a warning that by someone purchasing more than 1 of an item for a refund, it has made an email go round to every tesco store to remove the Jem poster. I guess 1's and 2's of a refund is not enough for Mr T's to bother alerting their colleagues to it, but 6 of a high price item like a CD is. One punter making £45 from a mistake means that everyone else from now on who buys this CD will be getting it at £9.77, and certainly no refund as there is no lower advertised price.
