Get in touch with HO again. You are right. He is either wrong or a liar!
The £13.08 large SEL was definitely in my store yesterday as I am sure it will be in many others tomorrow! The Pork is also as you stated!

After phoning a second Customer Services Manager she told me to return to the store and ask the manager to phone Customer Services.

Manager refused to phone CS, said he has spoken to other staff in this store and other surrounding stores and I was abusing their policy, he said i had been in getting refunds for CDs and other items and only came in to look for misprises, Policy was there for genuine customers only! My only redress now is with Sir Terry and Office of Fair Trading.

Personally I'd give up on the pig-ignorant store and it's pig-ignorant manager and write a strongly worded letter of complaint and send it recorded delivery.

Other people have received refunds from H.O. in similar circumstances.

If you only buy misprices I guess that is kinda taking the mickey, though I still wouldn't criticise anyone for doing so.

The fact is that legally they have to give you the refund - perhaps they can refuse future refunds if they were to inform you in advance. But if they never informed you that the policy didn't apply to you then they clearly owe you the money.

Yes I guess it is taking the mickey, but i find it very difficult to ignor misprises, knowing the policy.

No luck with misprices today. No scanner to check anything either :( .
Did look at cds but none of them were stickered and without a scanner it is very tricky. May have to look at other Tesco branches nearby soon

Simply treat is as though you are doing their work for them!
Spotting a misprice and getting a refund can save them a whopping £1000 fine per item if Trading Standards happened to come along and spot them!
Now lets see what's around tonight!

  • Not about main store tesco or mispricing, but I got a letter of apology from Tesco CS today after having a very big argument with a cs advisor on their clubcard line. She was downright rude to me, refusing to discuss my account with me because my husband is also a named cardholder, using the DPA as an excuse! It's my bloody account! I disputed this with her, but she was not budging. I asked to speak to her team leader. She then blatantly lied to me by saying that there wasn't a team leader in today. I then asked to speak to a manager there. She said that she was a manager. I then asked for her name and she put the phone down on me!! I called back and a very nice advisor put me through to a team leader who could not apologise enough. Having looked at my account, he could not understand why she had refused to discuss it with me. He also confirmed that she was not a manager and that Tesco policy is that if a customer requests to speak to a team leader, they should be put through. He said he'd listen to the call and report her to her team leader for blatantly lying and giving me false information, as well as being antagonistic and rude to a customer. I was chuffed to get such an apologetic letter this morning! Oh, I wish you could all read it. :D
