Knowing them they would probably put the wrong price on the sel and we would all get it free:rotfl: The title could be how we are so incompetent that we rip ourselves off or How many lies do you think we can tell you

0800 505555 is the one in Dundee, so they should sort it out.

Have you found a different route to sort the problem ? Is that location somewhere else, or is it another number to the same guys ?

Although often given the time on the phone I have spent it would probably cost more than the refund to sort out some issues if it was a pay number.

The manager was insistant that if the SEL was correct then I could only get refunded the difference.

Surely if thats the way he's trying to get out of it then he shouldn't offer any refund whatsoever. Offering the "difference" when the SEL is correct, surely there isn't any in that case.

Not saying he is right, he should of offered you R&R. Just saying his excuse to try and get out of R&R is crap!

I had an incident in Tesco's this morning.
Was doing part of my christmas shop and was overcharged for bacon.
I went to CS desk and was advised that it was the wrong SEL for item and then told I would be refunded the DIFFERENCE!
I objected to this and pointed out their R&R policy (which was next to me) but was told the most I would get was a refund of the difference.
Asked to speak to someone higher and they again said the same.
The only way they would refund was if I handed the items back!
Asked for Head Office telephone number and went and called them and guess what I was told to go back to CS desk and I would get a full refund.
The store apparently told Head Office that I had been offered this but had refused it???
I have never felt so awful, the way some of these staff treat you is despicable and now I will feel very self conscious next time I have to go to my local Tesco's

I have said it once and I will say it yet again they are a DISGRACE. Blantant lying under-hand robbers, who have and are consistently stealing money from customers on a daily basis !

Lets take a serious example, bacon overcharged by 42p per pack. Thats 20% overcharge. Convert that into a typical shop say someone buys a couple in an £84 shop, an overcharge of just 84p that's 1%, that seems a minimum overcharge %, I reckon it would be much more than this given the evidence in the meat/diary & entertainment sections, (which are easy to spot) plus others that without detailed scrutiny are more difficult. If turnover is £30bn per year thats £300million, in overcharges, which would reduce profitability directly by that amount. NO WONDER EVERY LITTLE HELPS, every little misprice does £1 in £100 equates to sum large numbers when the bigger picture is viewed.

I feel for those who shop on the internet who are continually stitched up without recourse, other than to say no I'll not bother having the bacon if its 2.48 not 2.06 as it says there, that's if they notice of course.

Thanks all. Phoned the 01992 632 222 number, got transferred a couple of time, but spoke to a very nice bloke who I explained the story to. He agreed with me and couldn't understand whay I was told what I was told! He phoned the store manager (seems I didn't speak to the manager, maybe the manager of that department?!). Phoned me back within 15mins and I get to go back and get my refund. Result! Next time I'll phone HO from the store - save me going back.

Having said all that I think it is an interesting point. The policy does say "a higher price than on the shelf or the product". So should I get a refund of a poster or sign??
