  • Applied for one of these 9/11 and apart from a letter about security dated 18/11 still waiting for my card. I feel a trip into the local branch armed with all my other card credit limits and see what i can come up with.

  • Out of interest, were you (or your wife) an existing customer?

Sorry for late response -- only just read up-to-date posts.

I was sort-of an existing customer - I had a equity ISA through HSBC - but wife wasn't.
Expect the worst & hope for the best...
  • I received a letter from HSBC dated Dec 6 on 17 Dec. They asked me to call their customer service centre weekdays between 9-5 within 7 days as they need further information or they would cancel my application. The earlist I can possibly ring them is tomorrow morning - 3 weeks later.  :-/

I bet they have cancelled my application  :'( Can't imagine what they want to know that I or experian havn't already told them  >:(
Called HSBC ...Have been offered a 2k limit :-/ They have done the credit check now so I'll accept graciously :P The only further info they wanted was whether I still wanted the card.
  • They've offered me a card and asked me to sign a set of T&C's, but they only state 6 months 0%. I phoned them up and they asked me to go into a branch to explain, then they'll transfer me to a set of T&C's which offer 9 months 0%.

What was the point in applying online then, followed by a wait of nearly 2 months??

I recieved the security from in mid November then nothing. Having spoken to them they've "sent me 3 credit agreements". Strange as none have been received then..

Has anyone in this situation who applied on line subsequently gone into a branch and managed to sort out the credit agreement and ID etc?

Husband applied twice online for Gold Card. They could find no trace of first application. Got fed up of waiting for second application after about 2/3 weeks, husband decided to go into branch. Should have heeded advice from others much earlier.

Two days later card arrived today! However, although in a box on the top right hand corner of the letter which says "Here is your new card - Please sign etc.
The following details apply, even if different from the enclosed terms and conditions.
    Annual percentage rates
Monthly rate 1.167% Cash Advances 16.7% Purchases 14.9%"

So, am I reading correctly that in fact this information overrides the Ts and Cs and in fact we don't have anything for 0%?

I do think the 0% offer should still apply... best to call them and check - do also keep us posted, as I intend applying in the near future, and will not take the trouble if there's no stoozing avenue there ;)
