New HSBC card - and it's a goodie!

I received a letter from HSBC inviting me to setup my security details? No mention of the card though.
Has anyone received this? Does it mean I have been accepted?
Thanks,

I have applied by phone this morning on the 0800 number, said I should get a response in next couple of days. Can't transfer from a bank tho' and need to transfer an overdraft. If I am accepted, can I transfer the OD to a card and then straight over to the new card?
If not it is a bit useless to me.0 -
i applied by phone - didnt hear anything for two weeks, so i rang them back and after being transfered about 6 times i was give an answer YES so i went to HSBC in town, signed my doccuments - and got my card two days later - i think if you apply in the branch it is so much quicker - only got givena £500 limit as i am a new hsbc customer but not too bothered as thats 500 at 0% and not at 18% (barclaycard)#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000

They are a shambles. I applied around the start of November and came back from 2 weeks' holiday yesterday expecting a card on the mat.
Not a sausage.
Who the heck takes 4 weeks to fail to process an application nowadays?
All this "it's a lot quicker if you go in a branch" is ridiculous - have they got people printing out the internet applications and rekeying them into the proper system? It certainly looks that way.0 -
Husband applied on 7th November. Rang them up to see what was happening. Told to write into HSBC. Sent them an email, got a reply today saying there's no trace of the online application, suggested trying again or going into a branch.
Not impressed so far. Have resubmitted an application now, hope it's worth the wait.0 -
This is a reaffirmation of previous advice to APPLY FOR THE HSBC CARD IN-BRANCH N O T V I A I N T E R N E T O R B Y P H O N E ! ! !
Having posted several weeks ago that I myself got my card in about 7 or 8 days having applied in-branch [at Holborn Circus, London], my wife applied in-branch at Harpenden on Wednesday 1st December [and also did a BT] and her card arrived in the mail t h i s m o r n i n g F r i d a y 3 r d D e c e m b e r ! Is this a record?!!
(Sorry to rub it in to all of you who've applied on line & got nowhere... Maybe it'd be worthwhile going into a branch & re-applying? Why doesn't somebody try it & post the result?)Expect the worst & hope for the best...0 -
i am already with hsbc and have a gold card which i dont use, they say the offer is for new custommers only.
Has anyone got around this?
apparently even by cancelling and reapplying they still would not offer the deal

Out of interest, were you (or your wife) an existing customer?0 -
Does anybody know if HSBC have a policy of matching a higher limit you may have with another card provider?0
