  • Just a quick update on my HSBC Gold Card. I can't believe how quickly this card was delivered - I applied in branch at about 2pm Thursday, and by Saturday morning it was sitting on my doormat!

I still haven't got a PIN but that is arriving under separate cover, but at least I've been able to arrange balance transfers to two other cards that have run out of promotional period.

Also, it came through with a much larger credit limit than first offered to match my other card!

  • Lucky you.
Its been nearly two weeks now, and still no response!

When I ring I get nowhere too.
    Getting annoyed a bit...
  • Stay calm.

How long is this offer expected to be around for?

I currently hold my HSBC current account for nearly 9 years now with a very healthy activity. Do you think they will favour this when it comes to limits? A 5k limit or more would be perfect ;)

i'm in the same boat, appied almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard nada :(
  • Apply in branch and you will see the limit they offer you and if its too low for your liking you can negotiate like I did to get another card limit matched. ;)

well decided to phone them seeing as its an 0800 number and guess what, no record of my application ::)

    numpties ???
  • What 0800 number was that?
When I ring HSBC I get told to ring 0870 100422 - a number which has been engaged for the last four days!

I just want to know one way or the other if I have been approved for a card or not. I will apply for a different card if I knew what HSBC are doing!

    Thanks for that Doh.

Well HSBC now say there is a system fault, meaning application responses are 6 days behind, and I should wait another week!

Hmmm. Not sure I believe that.....! ???
