  • Hi, I applied for this card on Oct. 25th and was sent a form inviting me to setup my security details which I posted off.   Then next day I rang to see if I had been accepted or not and the lady said I had providing I sent in 2 x utility bills and a payslip.

Nearly 3 weeks later ... still nothing doing + I'm on maternity leave at the minute and my payslip only says £400 Statutory Maternity Pay ..... will this affect my credit limit or should I get my employers to write a letter confirming what my "usual" annual salary is?

To make matters worse, I have to send these all off via post (which will take longer again) as there is no HSBC branches near where I live.

Also, will I still get the 0% rate starting from when I get my card or from when I applied for the a/c?

    Cheers
    ::)
I received a letter from HSBC inviting me to setup my security details? No mention of the card though.

Has anyone received this? Does it mean I have been accepted?

    Thanks,

Does anybody know if HSBC have a policy of matching a higher limit you may have with another card provider?

Yes - there's something in the details about how if you send them a couple of statements, they'll see what they can do. My cards were waiting when I got back yesterday, activated them & sent the missus out to Debenhams sale.....

We both already have current & joint account, plus Gold/Standard cards with HSBC. No problems applying for the online card.

I see that a number of people have been successful in getting their hands on one of these cards, but the limits mentioned in the thread seem quite low.

Has anyone been offered a credit limit of over £8000 at 0% for the 9 months ? (£8000 being what I would rather subjectively consider as being worth it for Stoozing).

I'm considering it as my next card.

    Thanks

  • HSBC's card may be great but if you're trying to transfer online from an Amex card it doesn't allow it. I then spoke to a plonker at their call centre who had no clue what he was talking about and have given up ???

No just 4.5k. Funny story; had a Gold Card from when I graduated. Closed it due to pure incompetence on their & the Indian call-centre parts. Reopened it recently, but they only gave me 2k. Wouldn't budge. Then they give me that limit no questions asked!
  • I got a letter saying that this offer of 0% for 9 months BT and 0% purchases till 1 Sep 2005 is a limited offer due to end on 31 Dec 2004.

Can anyone confirm this or is it just HSBC trying to push me to apply quickly?
  • I received a letter from HSBC dated Dec 6 on 17 Dec. They asked me to call their customer service centre weekdays between 9-5 within 7 days as they need further information or they would cancel my application. The earlist I can possibly ring them is tomorrow morning - 3 weeks later. :-/

I bet they have cancelled my application :'( Can't imagine what they want to know that I or experian havn't already told them >:(
  • Popped into HSBC today to apply and was told this offer ends on 28th Dec 2004.

Got offered a piddly amount of 1K even though I bank with them but do not deposit my salary in. Not sure whether to go for it now for stoozing.
