so confusing all this lol
i have gained over a 100 a week which has suprised me and i dont want to touch any of it as i keep waiting for them to take it back off me, feels too good to be true lol
my last worries are:
whether i will still get free prescriptions, dental, and optitions fees free
whether less rent will get paid now i have alot more income0 -
IF you get CA your IS will go up then they will deduct the CA off that, as explained before, by £27.15, so you would still get some IS and be entitled to prescriptions etc. As has been said several times, you will still get IS (Which qualifies you for free prescriptions, school meals etc etc) and your HB and CTB won't change because of this. All of this was mentioned before, when it comes to CA if you want to be better off by £27.15 a week with nothing else effected and not be made to go on JSA next year if your children are over 7 then apply, if you don't, then don't apply, always remember they can only backdate for so long.
I hope the extra allows you to provide the care your son needsOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
dawn~The DLA is being to paid for your sons care/mobilty needs.

hi yes it is pretty confusing, especially when you ring the appropriate people and they tell you you wont be entitled to free prescriptions, as i probably will not get income support once i get carers as the amount with the 27 will equal what i get for income support, so i will just end up with carers and not income support, that is why they said i wont get free prescriptions etc0
-
Dawn~You can still get free prescriptions even if you are not on IS as you can still get them on the basis of having a low income.I do know what Im talking about~honest!!:rotfl:

hi dawn,
you definitely will still get your IS & all the help that goes with it
your IS itself will be less, & paid separately from your CA, but when you add the two together you'll be better off by the £27+ mentioned earlier by lil_me & others
it's all the taking away with one hand & giving back with the other that confuses the issue, not to mention staff who should be better trained/know better giving you incorrect information!
I know it seems too good to be true, but stop panicking, it's real & is going to make a huge difference to your lives

yes when so used to being skint all the time to suddenly having money in the bank it is shocking lol
i have now got a extra 100 a wk so far from ctc and dla for son, and i have also been given money from ctc saying they owe it me and it was like 400 i feel so rich lol but i still cant touch it lol at least when i get courage to touch it i will have hundreds to play with whooo0 -
i went on that site that calculates how much you are entitled to a week and it said this, on income support, child tax credit i will get this:
Tax Credits-Initial Tax Credit £7,263.50 £139.30
Tax Credits £7,263.50 £139.30
Income Support/JSA £3,154.64 £60.50
Council Tax Benefit £938.57 £18.00
Housing Benefit £4,623.33 £88.67
Total Entitlements £15,980.04 £306.47 weekly
but when i put in to get carers allowance and child tax credit and income support, it seemed to say i am worse off money wise on carers, not by much thou:
Tax Credits £7,054.92 £135.30
Income Support/JSA £1,965.78 £37.70
Council Tax Benefit £938.57 £18.00
Housing Benefit £4,623.33 £88.67
Total Entitlements £14,582.60 £279.67 weekly
is this because they dont put on top the 50 carers allowance, so with carers allowance i would still get rent and council tax paid?
would i still get free optitions, dentist and prescriptions free?
Will my income really be 279 + the carers allowance??
Also as my income is higher because of a higher CTC rate, and Carers allowance if claim it, wont the council pay less rent etc as i have more income??
sorry to sound thick it just alot to work out lol0 -
heard from income support today, even though i will be going onto carers allowance they said i still have to return to work asap0
