Nooooooooooo, never dib your nib in the office ink!
I did - my nib was truely dibbed
Went out with boss years back - baaaaaddd move! Ended up taking a demotion and moving to another branch due to staff gossip. I learnt my lesson well....and then a couple of years later started dating my colleague (would I never learn...) Granted that one worked out and we now been married for near 12 years lol... still dont recommend the boss dating though - work colleagues possibly, but superior - nooooooo! Some People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0 -
Uh-oh!
Just knocked on next door (the other side - elderly couple) to talk about drains (don't ask), and the old lady suddenly revealed all about how she feels like a prisoner in her own house listening to NiceSoFarLodger's music every night at the weekend  She says she always expects it to start around 5pm and keep going until 11:30pm, and that she likes music but this is "boom-boom-boom".
I told her I'm often away at weekends - which she had already suspected - but that I would have strong words and she must let me know immediately it happens again! I also told her about Lodger1 and how I kicked him out, which she said she was very glad to hear. Apparently her daughter had been saying, "You must tell Badger - whoever it is, he's Badger's responsibility and she has to sort it out"... they likened it to having unruly kids...
So, here we go then! How to straighten out NiceSoFarLodger..?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
YEEESSSS!!!
Or - oh no BL; sorry to hear your lodgers are [STRIKE]providing fruitful reading for us[/STRIKE] making nuisances of themselves!
I feel sorry for the neighbour though; we have neighbours who have been noisy in the past an it's a nightmare!0 -
yee-haw!
I feel sorry for neighbours too.
Tell Nicesofar it won't be tolerated! No noise after 10pm and has to be at a certain volume or he can pack his bags. Take no messing!

Thought it was a bit quiet on the Badger front.....:D
Could you suggest he buy himself some headphones if he wants to hear his music late at night - that might cut the nuisance factor down.
Hope it gets sorted amicably - he's not that bad a lodger otherwise is he..?
essexgal;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0 -
Boo, what a naughty boy, being badly behaved when his "mummy" is not in the house! I agree with essexgal on the earphones thing.
Poor neighbour, it is horrible having constant noise from next door, you feel like your home is not yours to relax in because it's constantly invaded by someone else's presence.
Take him to task, BadgerLady!!! And mention the fact that if he continues to behave like this you have the choice of either letting it continue and escalate into a dispute, affecting your future selling ability, or the easy option which is kicking his sorry behind out! If he has an ounce of common sense he'll work out what the likely course of action will be! xx0 -
I sent him a text (since I'm not going to see him this evening): "Got accosted my the nieighbour this morning, looks like we need to seriously review our music policy"
He replied immediately: "No worries, I'm sure it can be toned."
He does have a really good quality pair of headphones that he uses during the week when AngelLodger's in (that's another story by the way - AngelLodger's contract is coming to an end soon). I've also thought about buying him one of those pillows with built-in speakers! But really it's only at nuisance levels when he has a friend over.

I seem to recall you gave nicesofarlodger a reduction in rent a little while ago, you could always put it back up until he can behave himself?
Maybe send the neighbour a glorious bouquet with the money and make sure he knows thats what you did with it (IME men alway think flowers are a dreadful waste of money)MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
AngelLodger's only here for the duration of the work contract - that's what's coming to an end
He's been offered an extension but he's likely off in a few weeks.
