I thought (1) then thought "the cheeky sod" then by the end interpreted as (2).

Yay!!!!!!!!!! A NEW LODGER FOR BADGER LADY!!! :D sooo exciting! It had all gone a bit quiet on the Badger front (except for tufters and the spatula!)

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

  • Unless he`s using the girlfriend as a chance to escape after the `Spatula Situation`... ;)

there's no way I would have a 43-yr-old French woman living here with us...
I did some work a couple of years back sorting out host families for Frenchies. Accompanying the Frenchies were a driver, a guide and some teachers - and their accommodation needs were a bit trickier ... and I ended up hosting the guide and the driver at my house. The driver was a French woman.

It was only for 3 nights and they were out all day. But they did seem to be really prone to cold and I had to have the heating on high and full-time when they were in the house!

I think he means (1). He's not au fait with our way of doing things. Even here, young people who have moved out from their home for the first time don't expect to pay rent when they go on holiday (they soon learn they're wrong on that one!).

Maybe he sees you as some sort of hotel accommodation, a hostel type of place.

You'll just have to speak to him and see how it goes. See what you're prepared to accept if he says he won't be paying.

    You do pick 'em!
  • He did ask about the girlfriend staying but there's no way I would have a 43-yr-old French woman living here with us... I've never been comfortable sharing with girls in the best of circumstances, but with only one bathroom (and no shower)
How old is he? Thinking Belle de Jour scenarios...

You're attracting nutters due to the lack of shower. Install a shower and even the already certified ones will gain some sanity.

and that I will go to stay with her For one month and I couldn't pay the rent as I will not be here

    1)

    but then
so I have no other alternative to stop my stay here.

    so 2)

    :)

If this is true, I strongly urge BL to NOT install a shower!

Nah, everyone always knows about the bathroom when they move in, and so far no-one's been put off by it (which I always find strange).

NiceSoFarLodger prefers baths anyway and has one every evening... I shower at work (let them pay the costs - besides I often run to work). So whoever's in that front bedroom has the mornings to themselves...

  • I took it to mean 2.

Well, he didn't last long did he and he didn't provide many laughs, I trust you have some sort of penalty built into his contract for not amusing your legion of fans.

On the other hand, onwards and upwards, wonder who we'll get next?
