Oh well, at least he wasn't in the coal cellar draped over the meat cleaver I guess!0

Once again *cue megaphone* "STEP AWAY FROM THE CAT YOU KITTYNAPPERS" :rotfl:
B_L this is awful. You need to sort our BunnyBoilerKittyNappingNeighbours. Either tell them how much it is upsetting you or write them a letter explaining things (lay it on about how kind they are and how much a rescue cat would love to be with them)
PS - Is this tufters....? If catz could speakz.....

Apparently 50% of NiceSoFarLodger's workforce was made redundant yesterday  - luckily he wasn't one of them...
We're having a Hobo Party tonight! I'm driving NiceSoFarLodger to work and picking up a large metal drum, then we're going to put it in the garden and burn off all the old branches that are piled up there (absolutely loads, since a guy from Freecycle chopped down my trees). LovelyLovelyNeighbour and some other friends are coming round with jacket potatoes so we can stand around it warming our hands and baking potatoes in tinfoilMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
I would go for a more tactical approach.
Hello Mrs Kittyknapper,
I have attended the vet this week as Tufter has not been at his best. After listening to Tufters chest the vet has requested that I stop smoking in the rooms where my cat is. I have advised the Vet that i am a Non Smoker and live in a smoke free house. He was very confused at this as believes that smoking has directly contributed to Tufters downturn in health.
I am aware that Tufter has taken to coming to yours in the evening and request for his own health that you do not allow him entry to your property. I am sure this will upset you as you have developed a great rapport but i have been informed that repeated contact with a environment where smokers reside could result in him developing Astma which you will appreciate is a serious condition neither of us would wish for Tufter.
I am sure Tufter will miss your company.
Kind regards
.....
note. there is no direct illness 'just not at his best' so you shouldent have to field 'poor cats at death door and she's still letting him out' comments from the neighbour and yes cat can and do have astma.. which can be aggravated by smoking. Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
Hi B_L. I've been following this thread from the start (I very rarely post here these days, but still read things on a regular basis) and this is the first time I've had to reply (never having had a lodger, I have no experience to draw on) as I am really VERY angry about this cat situation.
I have a cat, that regularly went round to the neighbours, seeing who would feed her etc. most neighbours were aware she was my at, and gave her the odd tid-bit - which, as you have said to your neighbours, is fine.
Over the years, I have had to stop this from happening. This is due to a medical condition, which has meant that I need to ensure she takes two lots of tablets each day. I crush the tablets, and mix them in with her wet food, one lot in the morning, one in the evening. If she comes home full, she doesn't eat the food I give her, which in turn, means she doesn't have her medicine. Which is not good.
Each of my kitty loving neighbours now know of this ailment, and are aware that they simply cannot run the risk of feeding her etc. as it will damage her health. (please see this page for info on her condition) I have also mentioned that I need to feed her at regular times, so her being home when I need her to be is important too.
Just an idea.....if you'd like more info on what is a pretty easy-to-explain-away condition that provides no outward signs (it was picked up as a result of her heightened heart beat on a regular check-up, which the vet felt deserved a blood test) I can PM you with the relevant info.
Good luck with it LD x0 -
Is Tufty home tonight?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0

Yes - I've been working from home today, and Tufty's been sunning himself on the patio most of the time. He ran about a bit when NiceSoFarLodger and I bashed about with the paint drum, but appeared for his dinner half an hour later! He's been watching us from the back door all night.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

How is the kittynapping going? Just seen another thread about a paranoid cat owner who has been losing her cat to a well-meaning neighbour who wants to feed it...and thought of you

Actually, I've been at home most days recently (or one day in, one day out) so he hasn't strayed far... he's spent a bit of time outside but always come back.
He keeps turning his nose up at the Tuna flavour Whiskas though - every time he begs for food, I tell him to finish his bowl before he can have any more; then he asks to go outside, as in "well if you won't give me smoked salmon, I know someone who will!". However, he's not yet carried out that threat and does eat his Whiskas in the end...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
