  • Oo, is "job" swearing now???

:rotfl: I suspect only when you put a 'b' in front of it!! Not that I'd know why, of course :o

Glad to hear your love-life's improved... pity about your driving though! ;)

Seriously though, could have been a lot worse - as others have said, cars are just cars after all.

Keep up the entertainment - but don't feel you have to keep it going at this level! :)

New profession: crash tester and stunt woman?
Seriously though, would you say those central reservations with a wire cable crash barrier and snap off supports are better than the solid steel or concrete ones.
The car looks pretty good - perhaps the other side is a real mess?
The designer tyres were rotating in the correct direction I trust?
How fast were you going (I won't snitch - honestly)?.
  • Yeah, the majority of the damage was to the rear off-side quarter :( By the time the back-end flipped out, I'd slowed to 55mph (keeping well back from a lorry in front of me). I'd been doing 70 when I first noticed the wobble.

I think the wire barrier did me OK - I snapped off a number of supports, but stayed on the correct side of the carriageway without bouncing back into it! Of course, I've never tried the other kinds

  • Hi there, gota say i have caught up on your thread(s) in the last 24hours, what a read, those del sols are quite rare and surprised the insurance company would declare one a loss for a bent bonnet, even your currant one, unless you have bent the axle it looks perfectly fixable,
Any chance of seeing the badger house on a freeview channel soon, Just in time for lodger 4 arriving, lol

Tell me about it! I'm still arguing with them about the valuation - they won't budge from £1,700 but I can't find one with the following spec for less than £3,000!
    - Any trim (mine was VXi but happy with SIR, ESi, VTi...)
    - Fully working transtop (not manual roof)
    - Automatic transmission
    - Air conditioning

The rear wheel is bent out of shape, fortunately Del Sols don't have rear axles so it's easier to fix than normal. Pic of the main damage:

That's 1.6 VTEC (UK spec ESi). My old one was a 1.5 Jap Impor5t (VXi). They're very light cars, with a lot of oomph. I miss them :(

  • Ooh, did someone call you an ambuance? Sorry, professional curiosity and those fluorescent stripes caught my eye!
PROUD TO HAVE DEALT WITH MY DEBTS
  • Yeah, I had to have all three services! The ambulance man kept complaining about being dragged out in the sleet, but he did exclaim relief that there was no blood or bits of dismembered body to deal with,
