Big Badger House (aka Noisy Lodger) HE'S GONE!

omg. That must have been SOOOO scary.
And what car is it? I showed the pic to my OH who also can't tell. "the badge on the boot looks honda-ish, the back window looks lotus-ish, the front end looks chunky like a nissan"0 -

How on earth did you manage to do that? Straight empty road, dry tarmac, good light?
Glad you're okay! (and congrats on the GF - I have Katy Perry singing in my head now)

It's a Honda CRX ESi (usually known as a Del Sol though strictly speaking this is a UK model so doesn't get that label).
You can see the tyre marks in the background - I span round twice, reaching right from the hard shoulder embankment across to where I landed! Bloody designer tyres...
It was actually starting to sleet when I took that pic, but you're right the conditions where fine. Once that rear tyre had dislocated from the wheel, there was no steering at all - I tried to drift to the left but you can see the road was gently bending to the right - it was as soon as I tried to straighten up that the back end flipped outMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Poor you
Is the car definitely a write off? Could you buy it back and get it fixed with the payout?0 -
The last one was written off because of a bent bonnet (same make and model) - problem is the car's 13 years old! There's no chance the insurance company will fix it, although I would at least strip it for parts - the engine isn't touched, the heated S2k seats will fetch £1200, the angeleyes another £500 - list goes on...
I'd still like to get my last car back and fix that up, maybe use some of the parts from this one.
Quite seriously though, I'm trying not to think about "next cars" until I've sorted the job out - if I get an internal promotion it comes with a company car... if I get the job in Cardiff I'm better off using a train... and if I move to Barcelona, well, one less thing to do before emigrating!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
He sounds pretty reasonable to me lodger #1 I mean, I would have a little get together and over a glass of wine, remark how bad you were made to feel that the neighbours had to come round, that you were put on a spot and please don't let's have a repeat performance, and stress thats the end of the discussion and move swiftly on to another topic, he/they won't appreciate if the neighbours being disturbed becomes the issue for the whole evening and if he genuinely doesn't want to upset the status quo he will be pleased you haven't turned into a nag about it.
Try not to worry too much. Good Luck :rotfl: The world is my lobster:rotfl:0 -

Was she not talking about your meet up with him. You were going to meet him for a drink weren't you? Did that happen? My memory is terrible!0

I found a message from him on Wednesday saying "fancy a drink tonight?". Problem is, I didn't pick it up 'til Thursday! Haven't bothered to reply - I think I've done enough networking now.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
