Big Badger House (aka Noisy Lodger) HE'S GONE!
Comments

OK, there's definitely some heartache going on here.
At 3am, BigGuns posted a status update on Facebook inviting 'any ladies out there' to a gig he's got a spare ticket to next week.
The young lady from my sofa, whose profile pic features her and him together, has now added a comment "taking the !!!!"
Hope she hasn't got her own key - imagine the revenge! :eek:Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
rule one, uou immediatly delete ex from FB. otherwise they are not really an ex and you are just taunting them to get them back.
Lodger has made himself a bit too at home while you are away, methinks. Riot act time BL?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I want my dining room back! I'm clearing stuff out at the moment and really need that space for sorting stuff out. I've got a pile of curtains in the hallway now and an 'area of carpet' in my bedroom for eBay stuff which would be so much more easily processed on a big table...
Plus I want my 50-yr-old sofa to not be broken

Omg! Time to kick some butt, BL. They are taking complete advantage!£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

*nods* I am afraid I'd be having a new lodger. But then we know you are a soft touch - I don't think you can afford to be when you work away though!Debt free 4th April 2007.

Have you got a plastic laundry-basket? Or a cardboard box? Gather up all BigGun's stuff and dump it outside his room.
Your being away from home seems to have given him license to treat your home like some kind of doss-house. Do you have time to get the sofa taken away for repair? That's a nice bill for BigGuns.
Time to read the Riot Act, Badger-Lady!0 -
Oh no poor BL & Tufters

This situation sounds horrendous for you. I really think he needs a big kick up the bum to sort him out or if that fails kick him out!!
While you`re away you need to know that your house & belongings are being looked after & respected, not broken...:mad:0 -
I'm going to try and fix the sofa myself - it's just the arm that's hanging loose.
It was my Great Grandma's sofa in 1959 - we have a traditional in the family of buying high quality furniture and then just keeping it forever, so I'm very attached to it (it's not like a mass production DFS jobby). And my Aunts and Cousins take the inheritance of these things very seriously. Of course I know the risk of wear and tear when inviting lodgers in but considering I used this sofa as my main bed for 4 years, and was still using the original loose covers I knew it was pretty hardy! Someone must have actually sat on the arm, and heavily, for it to break
Is it me, or does it also seem to be that I get woken up at silly o'clock every time I come home? And it's always BigGuns that wakes me, never Joanna.
I am definitely going to have a word about the dining room today. My idea was just to put it all in black bin liners and shove it in the attic out of the way.
I did buy him some designer hats that he'd asked me to get last time I was in the US. I haven't given them to him yet. Could I somehow hold them to ransom?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Hold them to ransom? I'd be tempted to stand in the garden while I set fire to them in front of him.
You need to have some very stern words with him or he's out. I'd be heartbroken about the sofa.0 -
They seem to have made up...
I've been out tonight with friends. While I was out I had a text from BigGuns asking if I could listen out for the door because his GF was on her way and had lost her phone.
Now I'm back - they're up in the bedroom creaking floorboards and talking loudly, though there's no music or TV to worry about.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
