HM Burgers!

I do pretty much all the above (except the egg) - instead I add a handful of grated carrot and a handful of porrige oats (or a couple of scrunched up Weetabix or Shredded Wheat). The moisture from the carrot helps with the 'binding' and the oats help to stretch the mixture - both are undetectable in the cooked burger.
I can usually get 5 x ¼ pounders from 1lb of mince :money:.
I occasionally use Sheesh Kebab spices for a change - always go down a treat.

You don't really need oil in it but a good one is to get you know those Baby Bell cheeses?
Slice one across the middle and place it inside the burgerI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Yes , We are having Chilli tonight .

,All you need is beef and salt and pepper.
Get some beef at around 15% fat, make a ball with it and put it in the fridge.
When it is nice and chilled get you frying pan or griddle as hot as you can without doing permanent damage (oops) and throw some butter in.
As soon as the butter has melted, almost instantly, put the ball of meat into the pan. Then take something with a wide surface area like a pan bottom and push down as hard as you can. Hold for 30 seconds. Take the wide surfaced thing away, careful for the beef sticking to it, and leave the burger alone for another two and a half minutes.
Put loads of salt and some pepper on the raw side and flip it after the two and a half minutes, then leave it alone again.
Three minute later you have a delicious burger with most of the juice seared in.
