I think it is difficult for me to score now because I think each time in the future if I go into Tesco, all the CCTV and *someone* will follow me :)

I think, the head office will have someone to check this thread soon :D

You guys try to score while you can.

OK, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but hey, I got it courtesy of Mr T.

Gazza My Story - paperback. Sticker on book says £3.73, shelf label says £3.97. Instore scanner said £3.97 so I bought it. It would have been rude not to. Went through till at £3.97.

    No hassle refund. :D

Da Vinci code was not mispriced at £3.21, but wanted book anyway and it is a good price.

Did try a few other books on instore scanner which looked as though they might work, but no joy.

Fogot about San Miguel, and meat all looked correct.

Thanks cpjackso for your site. What a good idea. :rotfl:
  • ok own up, which female goes to Staylbridge on a Friday?
when I collected duck breast last night the lad said there were people looking for these items (innocent look as I said, no, what sad people) - then the CS told me about the Friday lady, they were nice though and refunded. we went to car and got multimap directions to the next one out !

only the usual steak, duck etc, although i did notice some signs saying Chicken £1.99 with no KG mentioned (a bit like the rump steak 7.58 ones), but we were not in the mood for a row and we had duck.

Obviously getting a replacement is different, because you are exchanging a faulty item for one of an acceptable quality.

The point I'm trying to make is that getting an item for free, and then taking the item back for a cash refund is being dishonest.

Is there any difference in value between cash and the item? no! therefore if one is dishonest then the other must be wouldn't you say? you gain as much of an advantage by exchanging a free faulty item for a replacement of good quality as you do by exchanging for cash, you may feel it morally wrong many may feel that way but morals are not laws and cannot be relied upon in court.
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.
  • Justwondering, as I have been mispricced when using Tesco internet shopping, can I get item misprice items for free there?

    Nonsense !

What if the product is defective or not up to scratch, for example, meat that has gone bad prior to expire date.

For Mr T's not to infringe your statutory rights the product is bought as normal, the refund for an overcharge is an entirely separate issue. If you decide to buy something, it is overcharged, and you get a refund as a result, there is nothing stopping you returning it as per Tesco's usual policies. Whether or not the receipt has been wrote on or not. Any such practice would infringe your rights.

They might not like it but it also has a refund and returns policy directly above the overcharge policy lines, which tells you what the return policy is.

    This is certainly not nonsense.
If you have been refunded due to being overcharged you have received that item free of charge. You can take it back and make a complaint if it proves unsatisfactory in any way BUT if you try and get a reimbursement of money you have not spent then that is FRAUD.
  • What I great day I had today at Mr T's expense! Smoked salmon in Truro and St Austell stores over-priced. Sirloin steaks, stewing steak and small pork joints (that is the Sunday roast sorted!) also all over-priced in Truro.

A grand total of £63 refund.

Also cleared out Asda of Joeys (18 packets!!)

It was a lot of fun for me today!

I went to TESCO with no intention to score anything more because I scored most of them in the last few days.

At the time, I were about to leave the store. I noticed that there were two guys following me. I felt a big strange but kept wandering around the store to see if I need to buy anything. At last, I decided to leave without buying anything.

Then, when I went through the checkout and to the exit door. There were 4 people came towards me including the security man and the store manager.

    Here is the conversation:

The manager: Do you have a list?
    Me: What list?
Manager: The list of items? The internet list?
    Me: No, I don't.
    Manager: Are you sure?
    Me: Yes, I am.
Manager: You don't have an internet list of items, do you?
    Me: No, I don't.
    Manager: Were you here yesterday.
    Me: Yes, I was.
    Manager: It's ok.

    Then I walked out.

    It is hilarious, isn't it?

    :-)

Well now we know they are reading this thread.

Tesco manager, click the link below and you can see a list or your errors.

Of course there is a difference! If the cash refund costs Tesco £10, then the actual product will cost less then that since Tesco will buy at a trade price, and probably get a discount for bulk buying as well. The actual product could cost a few pounds less than it is sold for.

If you get deliberately overcharged so you can get the item for free, and then get a cash refund, you are abusing the policy to obtain cash by deception.

If you are genuinely overcharged, and you genuinely wish to exchange an item because it is poor quality, then that is an entirely different scenario.

So is overcharging customers and then trying to fob them off with every excuse under the sun, and that's the ones who notice. Don't forget that the MSErs are a very small percentage of Mr T customers, most get stung on a week by week basis, and when they complain get fobbed off because they expect CS to know policy and adhere to it (because they don't), which often they (CS) do but suddenly have lapses of memory.

I agree that I'd only take back a faulty item for replacement/refund (if product not available), but if these muppets can't follow simple processes and procedures then its there own fault, if others sting them. If they can't manage to organise the process properly amongst themselves get an external auditor to check the whole process and tell them exactly what to do so that the process is water-tight, then make sure that the CS know exactly the process.

If I was the internal audit person / external auditor at Mr T's I'd be pretty concerned about the whole can of worms that has been uncovered by this policy. It brings into question a number of serious issues on pricing (both on the store level and national level/internet level), when prices appear to differ from one another significantly (between stores), inventory management, process and staff training. Along with a substantial hit to the bottom line.

To be honest Mr T's should never lose much on this policy is it wasn't for the fact that they seem to be totally and utterly incompetent and following policy and procedure, also they seem totally unable to communicate between stores. Again today store 1 from yesterday has brie for 9.65 while store 2 has it for 10.20, the internet has it for 9.65, I'd be pretty unhappy if I'd bought it from store 2 which is blatantly o/c on this item, because it doesn't want to(can't be bothered) re-label the product and change the shelf label.
