  • CPjackso, as much as I like the website, can I ask that people continue to post their finds on here too? I know. I'm lazy!

I see my site as a secondary resource - just the item names. Something you can print out when you're rushing out to tesco and don't have time to read the last 10 pages of this thread. This is enforced by not having any commenting capabilities etc - just prices and item names and the shopping list output is ordered by date and the last 50 items (so old ones drop off).

Like I say - I think I need everyone to post the bits of info they have to my site - I started posting the stuff my self but was overwhelmed by the amount of info!!!

PS: From reading some more info on this thread... I've got another idea how to extend this a bit more.. Watch this space

How do you go about purchasing such an item, Do you pick up a leaflet or something and pay at the tills for it ????? :D

    Yup.

There's a see through package called "Instant travel insurance" which is found near the checkouts. The packets are all different colours dependant on the level of cover. Mine is blue to indicate an annual policy. I think the yellow ones indicate europe. Top of the display normally has a palm tree. You take the package to the tills and buy it just like any other goods in the shop.

I had to get tesco travel insurance as our trip was funded by CC vouchers, so when this happened I was stunned to say the least. I had been gutted as I'd kept putting off buying the insurance during the 20% promo until the last day, so more annual cover, but somehow managed to forget to buy it on Tuesday.

So when I saw the 20% signs still up today, I thought it was too good to be true. It wasn't...full refund and travel insurance policy for the next year.

OH nearly blew it at the checkout as he started to say in a loud voice "hang on a minute, that was £91 on the shelf..." quick evil look from me silenced him and cashier didn't hear what he'd said. Phew! It shows that even though he has benefitted from the freebies many times over and I've explained the policy many times over, the boy just doesn't listen!

Don't be so sure. You are dishonestly receiving money by getting a refund on something that you have already been refunded for. Quite possibly you could be accused of fraud or deception, and even if it turns out not to be a crime, Tesco could ban you from their stores.

    Nonsense !

What if the product is defective or not up to scratch, for example, meat that has gone bad prior to expire date.

For Mr T's not to infringe your statutory rights the product is bought as normal, the refund for an overcharge is an entirely separate issue. If you decide to buy something, it is overcharged, and you get a refund as a result, there is nothing stopping you returning it as per Tesco's usual policies. Whether or not the receipt has been wrote on or not. Any such practice would infringe your rights.

They might not like it but it also has a refund and returns policy directly above the overcharge policy lines, which tells you what the return policy is.

I love Mr T's more than a pig and that's saying something !

    PMSL!! :rotfl: Thanks!
    :p
  • So really if I had bought the WS razors with the £2.00 coupons on which were on special offer recently but still showed the offer price even though they had ended, I could have claimed that I was overcharged and got them free - doh !! I am soooooo dull and I left them there ........ maybe another trip is called for.

The plea wasn't to you to disband your fab site, but a plea to all the users of this thread to post their finds on the thread as well as on your site.

I agree it would be far too big a job for you to update alone as Mr T has so many misprices everywhere. I like the way it can collate for evidence for TS too! Nice touch!

Intrigued by the extention you have planned...

I received a letter yesterday, signed by Terry Leahy, Tesco Chief Exec. It was a pretty standard letter but one para was particularly interesting:

He obviously thinks it's not a misprice as long as one of the prices are right.... Unless you know different:rolleyes:
