I got some mispriced cheese and Salmon last week :T and obviously when you get the refund you have to put down your name & address.

I'm worried that they'll soon switch on to what I am doing and ban me.
    Could this ever happen?

    Thanks in advance

There was a thread a while back in the vent section where someone was banned for using too many coupons. I think the crux of it is that they do have the authority to ban individual customers as the store is technically private property - but it would be terrible publicity if they did it for obtaining a refund for being overcharged!
2007 Comping challenge wins so far: April: 1 pair James tickets, May: 1 pair VIP tickets to Knowsley Hall Music Festival, 1 pair Justin Timberlake tickets, lipsy necklace, June: 1 pair cornershop tickets

I was also asked for my name and address on Saturday - hadn't used my clubcard as I am wary of them taking it off me (always get points added afterwards if there is no problem with the refund). Anyway, just made one up - how they gonna know any different?
    :p
  • Had some fun with Mr T this lunchtime, irony as being veggie none of the items are for me but am really in Mum's good books at the mo'.
    So here goes:
Tesco 6 Medium Free Range eggs, shelf ticket = 88p but big poster right next to it says 84p.
Went to very quiet check out and asked her to price check for me, so OK, got a dozen.
Next Tesco Specially Selected Oak Smoked Salmon 100g = £2.45 on packet, £2.19 on shelf, got two as only Dad eats Salmon but you can freeze it, and noted that the mild Salmon next to it was also wrong so will get that next time (as this one will now be corrected)
Now the beef. Teso Brazilian Sirloin Steaks in the bag of 5, bog label saying were £10.43/kg now £10.38/kg and all bags priced accordingly. But last 3 of the older priced marked left, so grabbed them and considered leaving one behind for when they go check but then thought that's £10 lost, so took all 3.
At CS, eggs and salmon OK, but don't like it when you offer to go with them and they say no.
She tried a very feeble response for the beef: You've been charged right, the label says it was £10.43 before. No I said, this bag clearly says £10.43/kg corresponding to pack price of £11 whatever, which is on my receipt. She backed down immediately, if you're going to argue with me lets at least make it intelligent crossfire.
result = £37.37 refund, and got extra 25 clubcard points for postal voucher to use when "buying apples" got 1 Granny Smith for 14p!
PS Only one book mispriced, Da Vinci Code. Already got it but advise you all to grab it
In CD, look for Kylie's Ultimate (Double disc greatest hits, again I've already got it so didn't try)
On chart poster it says £8.97, shelf edge says £6.97, let me know how it goes!
Do think the CS are monitoring this thread, as nearly all beef at right price, but it makes it more fun to have a hunt, won't leave there without a full trolley and bulging purse!
  • Got several bags and packs of steaks over the last fortninght, no arguments from CS.

    A couple of comments:

First: If you want to vastly improve the eating quality of the steaks, I reccomend:

Vac Pac brazilian steaks: Remove all packaging, put them on a plate in the fridge for a few days to age properly.

Other steaks in 'Protective Atmosphere' bubble boxes (don't know the technical term)...simply !!!!!! a hole in the film front to let real air in. They get better after just a day or 2. Don't worry if they lose their red colour a bit, it's natural.

I've returned items already refunded if they're not up to scratch: Three-quarters eaten packs of brazilian gristle included. One of my local stores doesn't write 'REFUNDED' on my receipt. Naughty, yes. Illegal? I doubt it.

Thanks for the tip on the San Miguel yesterday, OP. I'm on a mission on my way home from work today, or has anyone else 'hit' the Cambridge stores?

    Hi, newbie here.

So that I don't have to trawl through all the old threads, can somebody briefly explain the procedure here.

I don't normally shop at Tesco as our local one closed down a couple of years ago, which means going into the city centre, but, obviously, if it's worth making the trip then I will.

Do you complain in store, or write in? And does it matter that I don't have a clubcard?
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

  • If you are charged more at the till than it says on either the product or the shelf ticket for that product, Tesco will give you your money back plus let you keep the product. After purchase, take the item and till receipt to Customer Service, explainwhat has happened, and they will give you a refund. No, you don't need a clubcard.

Tesco Leyland today, book Eve Green by Susan Fletcher - shelf-edge marked £3.73, sticker on book says £3.97, charged £3.97.

No meat that I noticed, and didn't have time to check cheese.

Didn't see anything on CDs or DVDs either.

    San Miguel OK, sadly.

Anyone know if there's a price checker in there? Never been able to find it, so usually take a chance.

I did notice what an earlier poster mentioned about dates on the offers. Most run out on 20 Septemebr and 4 & 18 October, so I guess it's a good idea to visit the day after those dates to see if anything's still on "offer"?

Oops, this might be a bit late but at lunchtime I noticed overpriced Finest Emmental & cheddar/shallot etc cheeses at Newmarket Rd but didn't get any. Sadly no San Miguel - also forgot to check the eggs.

There might be 1 bag of brazilian gristle left, I only got one but the CSA didn't come back with the label.
