Not sure if what Mr T exec man, is getting at here is where they have a label say product has fixed price of say 15.94, says 15.94 on pack and 15.94 on shelf label, yet the Kg is slightly out say buy 1p or 2p from shelf to pack, due to slight differences in packs weights, although the overall pack price is as per the shelf label. One of the Bigger steak value packs has something like this, I have noticed it in the past that although it's a bit mixed up the pack price in total equates to the total shelf price.
I'll make a note of it next time I am in and try to explain it a bit better with all facts to hand.0 -

I don't think so ...... that shelf label refered to a different product that clearly said 2, but we don't have it in stock, and the barcode is different, the offers out of date, and the managers in a meeting, maybe if you go down the road to the other store it'll be 5 be in here its not, What policy from headoffice thought that was out of date, what you mean a refund, i'll give you the difference, where's my calculator, now look young man haven't you been here before complaining about this ......... . ... .. . . . .. .
Bye for now
Please call again ..... every little helps ! :money:0 -

He obviously thinks it's not a misprice as long as one of the prices are right.... Unless you know different
No, I think what is being referred to here is where the price charged is correct compared to shelf and label, but a very diligent customer has calculated the price based on the per weight figures to 6 decimal places such that the amount being charged is a penny out because of some rounding technicality.
Anyway, so as not to get Off Topic - I've got some actual prices for you here - although I cannot believe that the same Tesco, less than a week later has got the same mis-pricing on the cheese when I personally saw the CS person take the labels off the shelf last time. Next time I'm thinking of marking the label to later check if it gets replaced. (More fool them in this case though!)
Tesco Finest 'Butlers' cheeses 9.95/Kg on shelf and 9.99/Kg on pack. (Actually because these packs weigh about 250g, this is an example where the pack *might* just come out at the expected price... depending on rounding, but if Tesco's want to embarrass themselves by getting the calculator out then so be it!)
Tesco Organic Brie £9.85(?)/Kg on shelf and £10.20/Kg on back of pack.
Tesco Finest Swiss Emmental (yummy!) £8.65(?)/Kg on the shelf and £8.99 on back of the pack.
WARNING: Got 'lumbered' with the following 'faux amis' items although I don't really mind:
Tesco 10 Kidz size cereals - correctly charged shelf price of 88p even though pack says 98p.
Gammon - correctly charged £7.97 despite the pack price of £8.48.
Organic mince - correctly charge shelf price of £2.59 as opposed to pack price of £2.79.
Good luck to all! This too, shall pass.0 -
Don't get your hopes up that Trading Standards will immediately rush off and prosecute Mr T. There is an awful lot of work involved, since the company make their procedures so arcane and complicated. All this has to be checked by officers and later by the legal eagles once the report is written. Even then, although individual officers may be keen to get a big notch on their belt, the departmental heads get a bit squitty, since they stand to lose a fortune in legal fees and costs. The fact is that Tesco are a lot better off financially than your local council. (I got both Tesco & Sainsburys in my day, but they put up less of a fight in those days.)
The moral is to keep filling your boots while you can. Most Trading Standards Departments will just go and inspect the place, and leave them an informal warning, I'm afraid.
I have noticed that the smaller Tesco stores have higher prices, but the same problems. I'm off to try one tomorrow.
Yesterday I got a large pack of Brazilian sirloin steak, which was priced £10.38/kg on the shelf and £10.43 on the pack. Anyone else seen this one?0 -

Yep, bagged 2 of them - careful if you're freezing though, pack states 1 month only. A previous couple of posts mentioned they tasted odd after freezing and were chewy and gristly. I think I'll try braising or casseroling mine.0 -
redfox wrote:it's a nice idea, Dalkirst, but unfortunately the Board Guides wouldn't really have the time to keep it up to date. Grabbit is a very busy board, with a lot of posts/threads per day, which takes a fair bit of time to look after and also we aren't able to read every post due to time constraints. We're just volunteers fitting this in around our normal jobs and lives so the time to do that isn't always available
I agree, but we could do it between us.
