Also what do you do on BOGOFS if one of your items is unsatisfactory ?????

In the context that you are getting one of these items for free, so it's alright if one is rubbish ???

And the fact is there are loads of people like me who buy the product purely because they are on BOGOF. I would certainly take it back if it was faulty, refund or not.

I'm new to this & a little confused!!

I got some free salmon the other day because I was charged more than the shelf price: £2.45 on pack, £2.19 on shelf, charged £2.45.

If the price on the pack had been £2.19 and the shelf price had been £2.45 would I still be eligible for a refund if I was charged £2.45?

 I've fixed that one now!! (Maybe discussions of the misprices page should go in the discussion thread rather than here - so as not to upset redfox too much!). ;)

Yes. You can reasonably expect to pay the lower of any unclear pricing.
  • No leyland do not have a scanner it disapeared ages ago
they do have nice customer service people though & i always get at least 10% of with coupons ( they have lots of nice young men)
Have you seen a scanner at chorley of horwich?

This week my nice young man thought my sweetcorn were leeks & charged me £2 odd - they were on special offer 4 for £1 or i might not have noticed
CS gave me back the difference - i did not kick up a fuss as i got my value large steak refunded okay but when i told my bf he thought i should have got the sweetcorn for free as well
    Is that correct?

In Horwich, the scanners are next to the women's clothing and near the toiletries (close to the end of an aisle near hairdryers and stuff).

In Chorley, the only one I know of is at the back of the escalators and on the right at the end of the aisle where the mops are.

So far as the refund is concerned, I think they were right, I'm afraid - it was a cashier error - he charged you for the wrong thing, you were not overcharged for the item you bought, iykwim.

So basically, if there are 2 prices & you are charged the higher of the 2 then a little trip to Customer Services is needed!

If they actually USED the policy any pricing error would be rectified in one working day at the most,

Customer spots a mistake, trots to customer services, gets refund and replace, customer services removes offending product or label and alerts upline, information fed back up through chain of command to relevant point at HQ and is immediately cascaded downwards regionally to branches, all branches act on information received and report back to HQ once resolved, HQ contact all branches unconfirmed within one hour and demand response not later than 1hr before close of busines or 5pm. job done!

What actually happens is customer spots a winner manager refunds (mutters a few expletives under breath) and life goes on!

How about this for the meat items stuff per Kg ?

When putting products on shelf, packers quickly check label on stuff they are off-loading into shelf matches label on shelf (should only need to check one as surely all the items in one box are the same, if they ain't Mr T's really do have some problems), sign sheet for the item as checked, if it don't match whether up or down, get manager there to sort it out, ie re-label and signed-off. Result, No products go on shelf without them matching label.

If someone puts new label on shelf, firstly have it signed off by manager as checked vs central price database, no price difference between stores. Thus they know the PRICE IS RIGHT through the stores. Obviously when a price is changed store alerted to make necessary changes from HQ. Result - Database matches shelf prices all the time.

Secondly, have the person putting new label on shelf check items in shelf match the label he is putting on (if they have followed the stacking process all should have the same price so checking should be quick and easy). Result no products in shelf that don't match the label. If the label does not match the items and label has been signed off as correct by manager in step 1, then alert manager have him check and have the shelf re-priced manaully, and signed off. Thus no items don't match the label from older stock.

Obviously this takes a bit of time, but it isn't going to take forever.

Then for anything that has slipped through accidentally (maybe stuff like the beer), for which there should not be too much, have BEN500's stuff above, regarding getting it sorted, by 1 removing label, 2 removing offending stock, 3. checking the 2.

I reckon this could be done pretty damn quickly and could be virtually eliminated if they sat down and thought about it. Luckily for us they can't be bothered, so we are quids in.

Just some quick thoughts on how Mr T could sort it out.

P.s. If there are any Mr T mgrs reading that'll be £300,000 in consultancy charges. Thnks.

I think the best way to sum up the current situation is that both Tesco and us Mser's are STUFFED, just from different ends! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
