so er, are the misprice policy same for tesco internet shopping?

no, it doesn't apply to shopping on the website.
  • If only Trevor_John, wouldn't it be nice if Tesco read all of this and actually realised that we are proving just how useless their CS staff are (well some of them ;-)

I managed to get two packets of 16 Unsmoked, Rind on back back rashers from Mr T today, pack price £3.18 each but shelf price £2.78. Will go nicely with the reduced eggs for my OH's tea tomorrow.

I wish that my T's was a larger store cos they all know who I am, I bet i'll get people demanding to see my 'internet list' soon, the cheeky beggers!! I would have told them where they could shove their own internet lists!!
  • My OH just came back from off shore tonight and is somewhat bemused that he can hardly get into the bathroom for the Nivea and WS blades. :D Wait until he tries to put something into the freezer! You can't get a bean in there because of all the salmon and steaks. :rotfl: :rotfl:

In the case of BOGOF for instance, you may argue that as the second item is free it has no value in the refund stakes, actually it is not free, your bargain is for two items in exchange for a certain amount of cash (or coupons  ) if one fails or is not fit for purpose your bargain has been reduced and you therefore have redress for its value of the bargain, ie 50% of purchase price paid, but as I said this would prove extremely difficult for the average Tesco C.S assistant to calculate once the price went into more than two digits!

I have previously returned an unopened packet of cheddar (mouldy!),that had been BOGOF. I was refunded the full amount.

From what I remember from when I took my chartered management accountancy business and company law exams from which I got one of the highest marks in the world, think it was something like 89% (just missed getting a prize). I do not believe this to be the case (although I haven't studied the law in detail recently for a good long time). The contract takes place at the point of sale for the item in question, that's when you and Mr T's enter the agreement for the goods.

The policy of getting it free is a goodwill gesture to hide the fact the Mr T's have messed up, (you are not returning the original product and Mr T still have legal responsibility to you for matters such as if the product is seriously defective, ie, has a piece of glass, etc). I don't believe that it has any influence on the original contract made at point of sale.

Maybe a specialist lawyer in the field of contract and consumer law could confirm that matter one way or the other, but whether we have one on here is another matter, and until we get one is largely informed opinion.

I think most of us agree however, that it might be a bit much going to get a refund for a crate of beer that's perfectly fine (refunded as goodwill O/C but I have to say I don't think it's illegal or fraudulent), and I doubt very much if Mr T's would be able not to refund a faulty item/replace (refunded as O/C goodwill).

Tesco Leyland today, book Eve Green by Susan Fletcher - shelf-edge marked £3.73, sticker on book says £3.97, charged £3.97.

No meat that I noticed, and didn't have time to check cheese.

Didn't see anything on CDs or DVDs either.

    San Miguel OK, sadly.

Anyone know if there's a price checker in there? Never been able to find it, so usually take a chance.

I did notice what an earlier poster mentioned about dates on the offers. Most run out on 20 Septemebr and 4 & 18 October, so I guess it's a good idea to visit the day after those dates to see if anything's still on "offer"?

No leyland do not have a scanner it disapeared ages ago
they do have nice customer service people though & i always get at least 10% of with coupons ( they have lots of nice young men)
Have you seen a scanner at chorley of horwich?

This week my nice young man thought my sweetcorn were leeks & charged me £2 odd - they were on special offer 4 for £1 or i might not have noticed
CS gave me back the difference - i did not kick up a fuss as i got my value large steak refunded okay but when i told my bf he thought i should have got the sweetcorn for free as well
    Is that correct?

    Just thought of another point.

At the bottom of the policy notice it says as clear as mud :

This does not effect you statutory rights

Well if you can't return / refund a faulty product bought via a legitmate POS transaction then O/C refunded, it clearly does effect the original contract terms of the POS, so you must be able to return them as policy states the above.

BF is absolutely correct. I was charged for Green Beans instead of Peas and was refunded the total amount, and we'd eaten the peas by then too.:rotfl:

It was a lot of fun for me today! :)

I went to TESCO with no intention to score anything more because I scored most of them in the last few days.

At the time, I were about to leave the store. I noticed that there were two guys following me. I felt a big strange but kept wandering around the store to see if I need to buy anything. At last, I decided to leave without buying anything. :)

Then, when I went through the checkout and to the exit door. There were 4 people came towards me including the security man and the store manager.

    Here is the conversation:

The manager: Do you have a list?
    Me: What list?
Manager: The list of items? The internet list?
    Me: No, I don't.
    Manager: Are you sure?
    Me: Yes, I am.
Manager: You don't have an internet list of items, do you?
    Me: No, I don't.
    Manager: Were you here yesterday.
    Me: Yes, I was.
    Manager: It's ok.

    Then I walked out.

    It is hilarious, isn't it?

    :-)

You should have told that you do have a list and that you are a mystery shopper. Then add that this harassment will be going down in your report. ;)
