It's a bit of a grey area, but when Daysoft supply contact lenses that are different to those detailed in a specification, they are technically breaking the law. Expect a test case soon!!

    Hi

I'm trying New Day daily contacts for long sight. I get much better night vision with them than with the others I've used. The downside is that my reading vision is not so good, especially under electric lights. (I have one eye adjusted for distance and the other for reading).

Has anyone had this problem? I don't know whether the solution is just to increase the power of the reading lens or whether it's more complicated than that.

    Thanks

I have my lenses adjusted for distance so I have bought a pair of cheap reading glasses over the counter for reading whilst wearing my lenses
  • Hi

I always use an online retailer (http://www.spexfactory.co.uk) they have a good range and are very cheap starting at only £14 for a months supply.
  • Hello!

Can I wear DailySoft one day, then the next day wear Acuvue Moist?

    Any problems with this?

    Thanks
  • hi guys im after dailies, i got astigmatism in one eye and one eye is normal, where would the cheapest place for me to get them, thanks

  • Thinking about ordering some daysoft,
Do they check with your optician or is that just a formality of ordering?

I ask because my last optician didn't issue me a prescription, he said I needed to order 3 months supply of lenses.

I have been using Daysoft for some time and they always check with your optician, I was using D&A and had some problems with them releasing the prescription to Daysoft, which I had to sort out with D&A before they would let me reorder.

  • I thought as much, I'm with D&A, or was with, I tried to get some lenses online but D&A refused to give my info with D&A stating I didn't trial the lenses 3 months or some similar excuse,

Never again with that bunch of cowboys, they didn't really care about what suited my eyes, they just wanted to make a sale and sign me up on their monthly plan.

I wear contact lenses and the solutions come in a 355ml bottle, which is really heavy and annoying to take away with me.

I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get small bottles or even ampules of contact lens solution for overnight stays. I know that Specsavers do a 2 week bottle but that costs £4.50 and needs using up within 3 months and isn't very money saving.

I have seen contact lens refreshers like these http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1031539&classificationid=1046446
and was wondering if I could get some contact lens solution in packaging like it.

I do have a supply of daily disposables, but to be honest they are no way near as comfortable as my normal lenses.

    Hi
I've not had lenses for 3 years now as I had my eyes lasered. But I do remember that when I did wear lenses I once forgot my solution when I went away to my Mum's for the weekend. I popped into her local specsavers and explained my plight, they asked if I was on the monthly direct debit scheme (which I was - though they didn't check with my branch) and gave me a sample bottle for free, this would have been ample for a couple of weeks supply.
So if you are paying monthly they should provide you with a smaller sample bottle.
