Has anyone else been prescribed easyvision sential dailies [Specsavers]?
They're silicon hydrogels - any alternatives?

Anybody? I've been advised these by Specsavers too and can't find much on the net about them (reviews)
    Thanks!

I tried contacts in 2013 and had a direct debit deal with Specsavers for multifocal lenses. They did work well in social situations but because I work in front of a monitor for hours and hours at a time my eyes were sore by the end of the day so I would need to take them out just as I really needed them - in the evening. I would add that I work at home so nobody other than the postman ever sees me in my pyjamas/glasses/lenses.

I found it very difficult to put them in and out quickly enough and over the months they were used less and less and eventually I cancelled the DD and had a refund for the unused boxes. Since then I have had a sight test for glasses which required quite an upgrade and I have varifocals for general wear, occupational lens for PC work and prescription sunglasses.

The contacts I had left were still in date and I used them yesterday just to go out for a meal. They were great for the limited time I had them in and I would like to use them for the occasional trip out but wouldn't be prepared to spend £30+ a month for just using them 5 or 10 times for a few hours. Are there daily multifocals available so I would be paying per use rather than per month?

  • I've used Martin's search facility to find cheaper lenses but the ones I have aren't on there.

I have the following dailies (both from Specsavers):

One eye - Easyvision Umere Di 14.1 PWR -2.50
The other - Easyvision Umere Toric Di 14.3 PWR -.250/x0.75x0.20

Does anyone have any ideas on where I might find them cheaper than the £35 per month I pay currently?

    Many thanks

Easyvision is Specsavers in-house branding, they're usually another company's product rebranded.

    ETA

Brief research indicates that they're Clariti 1 Day.

I googled "Who makes Easyvision Umere"! there were several answers all giving the same answer. I've linked one of them in my reply (the blue text usually indicates a weblink.)

Thanks. I've done some price research and it seems I can't buy the lenses cheaper than Specsavers.

Yikes - £35 per month it is then....

    Thanks for the help.

I think they're pretty new technology, which usually comes at a price. additionally I believe some manufacturers may be able to more closely control retail price
