I can recommend www.feelgoodcontacts.com
My first order was here in 3 days and the prices were 15% cheaper than Asda0 -
Hopefully someone can advise. I've been with Optical Express for about 15 years now paying for my contact lenses by direct debit and having built up a nice stash of them I want to cancel the DD and when I run out buy via the web. I just want to know if there will be any recriminations if I just cancel the direct debit through my bank and leave it as that, I can't find any guidlines on the web and the only contract I'd have signed in to would've been over 15 years ago so I can't find that.
Has anyone else cancelled their contact lens direct debit with no problems?
Many thanks0 -
With a DD scheme it's possible that you've received lenses that aren't yet fully paid for. Obviously you'll have to pay for those. You'll need to budget for the obligatory annual Contact Lens assessment and any necessary aftercare.
I wouldn't recommend just cancellng the direct debit, you have an agreement/contract which needs to be specifically cancelled with the lens supplier0 -
Thanks for your reply, with DD i would've thought it was all paid in advance, I've recently had my assessment which was the first in about 2 years and that was to get my prescription, I'm not sure I've every had aftercare either, I was told once I was meant to get solution with my monthly payments but that never happened, I tghink I'll bite the bullet and cancel the DD.

When I first got my contact lenses (about 11 years ago!), it took a few days for my eyes to get used to having them in. It's perfectly normal, so don't worry. Just try to go about your daily business and you'll soon forget you're wearing them.

Do not buy lenses from abroad, I have done this mistake in the past and had problems with my eyes ever since! The best company I find for my contacts is Yates and Suddell, I order online, they are cheap and I can be 100% sure they are quality tested lenses!0

I had an eyetest recently with my local optician and he supplied me with two trial monthly lenses that seemed to suit me over the first 2/3 days. I expressed my interest in daily disposable lenses as I know I am not great at sticking to the hygene regime of monthly lenses.
Without any further tests he supplied me with 2 boxes (60) of "Dailies All Day Comfort" lenses and charged me £40.00.
I am now having some discomfort with these lenses and have made an appointment to see him again.
As this was to be a trial, and the fact that my both eyes were the same, did I really need two boxes?
The same lenses are available online at £9.15 per box and through Specsavers contract @ £22.00 per month (60)
A lot of the advice here is not to go against your opticians advise but as he prescribed "Dailies All Day Comfort" what would be wrong with purchasing them online. Surely the online ones would be exactly the same as the ones supplied.0 -

I have been using https://www.daysoftcontactlenses.com/ which are based in Jersey for a number of years and have had no issues. I would highly recommend them and they are a lot cheaper than most other places.0 -

Usually lenses are supplied in multiples of two boxes as each eye requires a different strength. Are you sure you're not mixing up the lenses? If you've any doubts go and see your optometrist.0 -
no, both my eyes are the same and i have been told that i dont have to worry about left and right.
I just think one box would have done for a 15 day trial0
