    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hi all,

Aiming to bring in this week's shopping at £15 or under - should be able to do so as nothing major to buy, just bread, milk, butter and the fresh stuff. The main meals are coming out of the freezer and store cupboards.

    Other than that a NSD.

    POxx

Edit: Shopping came in at £13.84!!
:D2010 MFW Challenge No. 112 Mortgage paid in full 27/08/10 I was MF!!!:D
But now I'm not - (Joint) Mortgage £104704.
    New MFW target £5000 overpayments by 31/12/2105 £400/£5000 = 8%
    SAVINGS TARGET - £25000 by 31/12/2015 £13643/£25000 = 55%

    Today I will be
    • writing out a menu plan for the next two weeks, drawing up a shopping list and sticking to it!
    • Transferring a £7.00 win from free bingo into account
    • Cancelling breakdown cover and renewing with cheaper provider (£45.38 saved)
    • Answering some online surveys
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

    NSD for me today :D

I've entered lots of competitions and done some batch cooking. I found an unexpected £1.45 in my Topcashback account (I went through quidco for the purchase and cashback didn't show there I assumed it was because I'd used a few money off and extra points code) so have requested a withdrawal of that. I did my weekly consumerpulse update (not bought anything this week, but still 50p for telling them that) and played around on ciao updating my details on their new site. I actually found a £3 survey on there too, but of course the page timed out when I tried to do it and all I have now are 10p or prizedraw ones which I'm not wasting my time on.

After getting my letter from Atlantic about price rises I've been looking into energy saving options, but haven't found much that I'm not already doing and which doesn't cost money. Though I am currently defrosting (not so much frost as the next ice age in my case) my freezer after reading that frosty freezers use more electricity.

Just to explain the entries that mention Book keeping work for clients, I have a part time job throughout the week of 26.5 hours teaching in FE college but in an attempt to make extra income for mortgage overpayments I also have a small business which I run from home carrying out book keeping work for local businesses. All profits from the business go towards mortgage.

    Today I will be
    • Staying at home doing housework/preparing for next week
    • Splitting and moving some garden plants to fill gaps so I dont need to buy new ones
    • Complete some book keeping work for a client
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

    Today I've already:
    - updated my spreadsheets and transferred £170 to offset
    - entered a few comps
    - written to train co to claim refund. Don't think I'll get anything as train exactly 1 hr late, but no harm in trying
    - sent some used ink cartridges to Hypno on DFW (Ok, so it cost me postage but worth it as they are worth quite a bit to her :j )

List of things to achieve today:
    - get insurance quote
    - put stuff on ebay
    - start to sort out stuff for my holiday (4 more sleeps :D )
    - email co I bought bathroom fittings from. They've arrived & are lovely but no instructions on how to fit
    - do some washing & hang out to dry
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
